THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Proposed Traffic Calming Measures and Proposed Raised Signal-Controlled Pedestrian Facility (Pedex Pedestrian Crossing) in Mustard Mill Road (D6362), Staines-upon-Thames
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their power under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Section 90(A) to (I) inclusive of the Highways Act 1980, and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Section 23(2)(A) of the said Act 1984 propose to introduce a series of traffic calming features and to to upgrade the existing signalcontrolled pedestrian facility to a raised Pedex Crossing in Mustard Mill Road (D6362) Staines-upon-Thames.
1. A flat-topped road table, which will extend across the full width of the carriageway, the centre line of which will be at a point 0.6m south-west of the centre line of the existing Pedex Crossing situated at, or adjacent to, the Two Rivers Shopping Centre Footbridge (Identifier: 03487185). This would have the effect of repositioning the current zig-zag markings associated with the Pedex Crossing by 2.5m in both south-west and north-east direction; the road table will be 9.55m in length, 75mm in height, with 1.5m ramps at a gradient of 1 in 20; 2. A flat-topped road table, which will extend across the full width of the carriageway, the centre line of which will be at a point 18m south-east of Lamp Column N15; the road table will be 7.50m in length, 75mm in height, with 1.5m ramps at a gradient of 1 in 20; 3. A tapered edge road table, the centre line of which will be at a point 6m south-east of Lamp Column N6; the road table will be 7.20m in length, 65mm in height, and will be 6.2m in width, with 1.3m ramps at a gradient of 1 in 20.

Mustard Mill Road (D6362), Staines-upon-Thames (Prohibition of U-Turn) Order 202-
SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL in exercise of their power under Sections 1(1) and 2(1) to (3) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, proposes to make the above mentioned Order, the effect of which is that traffic proceeding in either direction on the length of road specified in the Schedule to this Notice, shall be prohibited from making a U-Turn, so as to face or proceed in the opposite direction. The above restrictions shall not apply to vehicles being used for ambulance, fire brigade or police purposes in an emergency; or in relation to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; or in accordance with any restriction or requirement indicated by traffic signs placed on the road by or on behalf of Surrey Police. A copy of the proposed Order, together with a plan showing the length of road to which the Order relates, a Statement of the Council’s reasons for proposing to make the Order and a Statement of the Council’s guidelines for the acceptance of objections to traffic regulation orders, may be viewed online at https://www. surreycc.gov.uk/roads-and-transport/policies-plans-consultations/roads-andtransport-consultations (follow the link to Mustard Mill Road prohibition of U-turn proposal).
