What is happening?

THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL

Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate/Redhill (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 202-
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-named Order, under section 84 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers, the effect of which will be to (a) extend the 30 miles per hour maximum speed limit in that length of Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate as extends from a point in line with Street Lighting Column N30 to a point 388 metres east of its junction with (D1295) Tiler’s Way. NB Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate as extends from its junction with (A217) Dovers Green Road/Cockshot Hill to a point in line with Street Lighting Column N30 will have a 30 miles per hour maximum speed limit by the system of streetlighting that is already in place; (b) impose a 40 miles per hour maximum speed limit in that length of Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate/ Redhill as extends from a point 388 metres east of its junction with (D1295) Tiler’s Way to its junction with (A23) Horley Road; and (c) Revoke the “Reigate and Banstead Borough Council The Borough of Reigate and Banstead (Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate/Redhill) (Restricted Road and 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2000” in its entirety.
The speed limits proposed by the above-mentioned Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

Proposed Traffic Calming Measures in Woodhatch Road (A2044) and Tiler’s Way (D1295) Reigate
Surrey County Council in exercise of their power under Section 90(A) to (I) inclusive of the Highways Act 1980 propose to introduce a series of traffic physical measures to improve safety and reduce vehicle speeds in Woodhatch Road (A2044) Reigate and Tiler’s Way (D1295) Reigate as follows: – (1) a road table at the junction of Woodhatch Road and Tiler’s Way, Reigate, extending across the entire carriageway and for a distance of 31 metres along Woodhatch Road and 7.5 metres into Tilers Way. The road table will include ramps of 1.5 metres at a gradient of 1:20 and will rise to a height of 75mm; 
(2) a tapered edge raised table on Woodhatch Road, the centreline of which will be 160m northwest of the junction with Tiler’s Way. The proposed raised table will measure 75 millimetres in height, be 4.7 metres wide and 10.5 metres overall in length. It will have a 7.5 metre long flat-top, with tapered edges at a 1:3 gradient and 1.5 metre main ramps at a 1:20 gradient; and (3) a tapered edge raised table on Woodhatch Road, the centreline of which will be 150 metres south east of the junction with Tiler’s Way. The proposed raised table will measure 75 millimetres in height, be 5 metres wide and 10.5 metres overall in length. It will have a 7.5 metre long flat-top, with tapered edges at a 1:3 gradient and 1.5 metre main ramps at a 1:20 gradient.
