What is happening?

Somerset Council Parish of Minehead

Temporary Closure of Woodcombe Lane Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along Woodcombe Lane - from 46 metres north-west of the junction with Higher Orchard, northwards for a total distance of 105 metres. This Order will enable National Grid to remove overhead cables and replace with underground cables.

The Order becomes effective on 17th November 2023 and will remain in force for eighteen months. The works are expected to commence on 20th November 2023 and last until 30th November 2023 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 11 days.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The works promoter will contact residents and businesses directly to discuss access arrangements.
