North Petherton, Multiple Temporary Road Closures Due To Gas Works

Temporary Closure of High Street, Shovel Lane and Cliff Road

Somerset Council in exercise of its powers under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, propose to make an Order prohibiting all traffic from proceeding along: High Street - (20th November 2023 - 22nd December 2023) from the junction with Tappers Lane to the junction with Shovel Lane; Shovel Lane - (20th November 2023 - 22nd December 2023) from the junction with Hyde Park, southwards for a distance of 57 metres; and Cliff Road -(2nd January 2024 - 23rd February 2024) from the junction with Melcombe Lane to the junction with High Street. A total distance of 662 metres. These roads will remain open between 23rd December 2023 - 1st January 2024.

This Order will enable Wales and West Utilities Ltd to carry out phased works to upgrade the gas mains. The Order becomes effective on 14th November 2023 and will remain in force for 18 months. The works are expected to commence on 20th November 2023 and last until 23rd February 2024 between the hours of 00:00 - 23:59 for a total of 96 days.
