What is happening?

CAMBRIDGESHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
NOTICE is given that Cambridgeshire County Council has made an Order pursuant to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended by the Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991, the effect of which: 

Peterborough Road (A605), Whittlesey (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1289
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Peterborough Road (A605), Whittlesey as lies between number 211 and Ralph Butcher Causeway. The alternative route for vehicles is via A605 – B1095 – B1040 – A605 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway patching and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 27 November 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 26 May 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 20:00hrs 27 November and 05:00hrs 28 November 2023.

Benwick Road (B1093), Whittlesey (TEMPORARY 40MPH & 20MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023-1301
Is to impose a 40mph and 20mph speed limit along Benwick Road (B1093), Whittlesey as lies between Wype Road and Puddingbag Drove. The Order will be effective, for safety purposes, when signs are in place indicating the speed limit along the whole or any part of the above mentioned length of road whilst works are in progress or temporarily suspended. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate carriageway improvement and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 November 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 May 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 November 2023 and 5 November 2024.

Plash Drove, Tholomas Drove (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1229
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Plash Drove, Tholomas Drove as lies between Plash Farmhouse and the B1187. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1542 – Folleys Drove, Guyhirn – B1187 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate pipe laying and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 6 November 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 5 May 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 6 November and 24 November 2023.

Popple Drove, Gorefield (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1242
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Popple Drove, Gorefield as lies between Highfield Farm and Leverington Common. The alternative route for vehicles is via B1166 – Mill Lane – Birds Drove and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate telecommunications and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into
operation on 13 November 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 12 May 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 09:30hrs and 15:30hrs 13 November 2023.

Coates Road, Whittlesey (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023-1270
Is to stop any vehicle from proceeding along Coates Road, Whittlesey as lies between Minuet Paddocks, Coates and Wype Road, Eastrea. The alternative route for vehicles is via A605 – B1040 – A47 – A141 – A605 and vice versa. The proposed Order is necessary to facilitate water connection and associated works which are being carried out on or near this highway and it will come into operation on 1 November 2023 and continue until these works have finished or on the 30 April 2025 whichever is the earlier. It is anticipated that these works will be carried out between 18:30hrs 1 November and 05:30hrs 2 November 2023.

Access will be maintained to properties affected by these orders. The above orders shall not apply to any persons lawfully engaged in connection with any works for which these are made, any member of the Police Force, Fire and Rescue Service, Ambulance Service, a vehicle being used by Special Forces during the execution of their duties or to any person acting with the permission or upon the direction of a Police Officer in uniform.
