What is happening?

WATFORD BOROUGH COUNCIL

THE BOROUGH OF WATFORD

THE MEADOWS, WATFORD, (NO WAITING AT ANY TIME), ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Watford Borough Council, acting as agents for Hertfordshire County Council has made the above-mentioned Order pursuant to arrangements made under Section 19 of the Local Government Act 2000 and the Local Government (Arrangements for Discharge of Functions) (England) Regulations 2000 with the Hertfordshire County Council, and in exercise of the powers conferred on that County under Sections 1,2,3 and Part IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (referred to as "the Act") and all other enabling powers. The order will come into effect on the 30th October 2023.

The general effect of the Order is to:

(A) Introduce 27 metres of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions along the south western side of The Meadows, opposite the Meriden Surgery.

(B) Introduce 23 metres of No Waiting at Any Time restrictions on the south eastern side of The Meadows, just south of the Meriden Surgery to the junction of Finch Close with The Meadows.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Order, or of any of the provisions contained in them, on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with in relation to the Orders, may within 6 weeks of the date of this Notice apply to the High Court for this purpose.
