Southend-on-Sea, Temporary Closures/Restrictions due to Carriageway Resurfacing Works

What is happening?

SOUTHEND-ON-SEA CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC, WAITING, PARKING LOADING, UNLOADING) ORDER 2023 (TTO2225)

(CARRIAGEWAY RESURFACING WORKS 2023-24)

Notice is given that the Southend-on-Sea City Council under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 has proposed to make the above Order. The effect of the Order will be as follows:

1. Marlborough Highways on behalf of Southend-on-Sea City Council, will be carrying out carriageway resurfacing works on various dates and at various locations.

2. The effect of the Order will be to introduce a temporary prohibition of traffic, parking, waiting, oading, unloading, all locations effected by the proposed works are listed in Table 1 to this notice; diversions will be signed as specified in Table 1.

3. The Order and prohibitions will come into effect on 6th November 2023 and will continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier and will apply only during such time and to such extent as indicated by traffic signs. Further details regarding the impact of the scheme and the actual traffic management controls being applied will be included in notifications in advance of each phase, to residents, businesses and statutory consultees as required, not forming part of this Order.

4. Access for emergency vehicles, vehicles being used in connection with the works, will be maintained during the closure.

5. Any vehicle waiting in contravention of any restriction/prohibition imposed by this Notice may be issued with a Penalty Charge Notice.
