What is happening?

THE KINGSTON UPON HULL CITY COUNCIL

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

SILVER STREET
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council by virtue of S.14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 intends to make an Order.
The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any person with a vehicle from proceeding along:-
Silver Street, Kingston upon Hull.
The purpose of the Order is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during works to service the bollard system.
The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on the day.
The Order will take effect on 10th November 2023, and may continue in force for a period not exceeding eighteen months or until the works which it is proposed to carry out have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
It is anticipated, however, that the works will be completed between 9am to 3pm on 10th November 2023.

TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847
ORDER FOR THE PREVENTION OF OBSTRUCTION IN STREETS SANTA ARRIVAL PARADE, KINGSTON UPON HULL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council have today made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 for the purpose of preventing obstructions in the length of street in the City of Kingston upon Hull hereinafter mentioned on the occasion of a Santa Arrival Parade, 19th November 2023.

The Order:-
(a) prohibits any person (except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform) from driving, riding or propelling any vehicle or causing or permitting any vehicle to wait in or on that length of Jarrett Street (from Hull New Theatre/ to Albion Street); Albion Street (from Jarrett Street to Story Street); Story Street (full length); South Street (from Jameson Street to Paragon Street); Prospect Street (from Story Street to King Edward Street); Paragon Street (from South Street to Queen Victoria Square), Kingston upon Hull, between 10.30am to 11.45am on the 19th November 2023.
(b) requires any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to obey the directions of the said police constable and of any other police constable in uniform, and
(c) requires all persons present in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to comply with the directions of any police constable in uniform.
The purpose of these closures is to ensure the safety of the public and operatives during the Santa Arrival Parade.
The Order does not apply to fire brigade vehicles, ambulance and police vehicles.
The penalty for an infringement of the Order is a fine upon conviction not exceeding Four hundred pounds.
A copy of the said Order is available for inspection during normal office hours at the Reception Office at the Guildhall, Kingston upon Hull.

ORDER FOR THE PREVENTION OF OBSTRUCTION IN STREETS CHRISTMAS LIGHT SWITCH ON EVENT 2023, KINGSTON UPON HULL
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Kingston upon Hull City Council have today made an Order under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 for the purpose of preventing obstructions in the length of streets in the City of Kingston upon Hull hereinafter mentioned on the occasion of the Christmas Light Switch on Event 2023.

The Order:-
(a) prohibits any person (except upon the direction or with the permission of a police constable in uniform) from driving, riding or propelling any vehicle or causing or permitting any vehicle to wait in or on that length of:-
 (i) Paragon Street between Chariot Street and Carr Lane (including the parking bay in-front of Hull City Hall) from 00.01 hours on 15th November 2023 to 23.59 hours on 16th November 2023, and
 (ii) Queen Victoria Square Bus Lane from Queens Dock Avenue to Chariot Street, and Paragon Street from Chariot Street to Queen Victoria Square, from 16.00 hours to 21.00 hours on 16th November 2023.
(b) requires any person directed or permitted by a police constable in uniform to drive, ride or propel a vehicle or to cause or permit a vehicle to wait on or in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to obey the directions of the said police constable and of any other police constable in uniform, and
(c) requires all persons present in the said length of street during the said hours on the said day to comply with the directions of any police constable in uniform.
