Consett, Multiple Temporary Road Closures
What is happening?

(Old Hall Road, Ashby Crescent, Pleasant View, Consett) (Temporary Road Closure) Order 2023
The Council on 20/10/23 made the above Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14 (1) to prohibit all vehicular traffic from proceeding on the following lengths of road to enable concrete carriageway resurfacing works to be undertaken: a. Old Hall Road - a 340 metre length between Delves Lane and Castledene Road and also; a 228 metre length of Fairfield between Old Hall Road and Metcalfe Road b. Ashby Crescent - a 205 metre length between its junctions with Princess Avenue and Ritsons Road c. Pleasant View - a 275 metre length between its junctions with Cutlers Hall Road and Valley View/Chaytor Road.
An alternative route will be available to vehicular traffic from a. Western side of the closure from Delves Lane north westerly, then north easterly on Gloucester Road to the junction with Ritsons Road / Castledene Road to the eastern side of the closure, and vice versa b. North western side of the closure easterly on Princess Road, then southerly on Ritsons Road to the south eastern side of the closure, and vice versa c. Eastern side of the closure south easterly on A691 Cutlers Hall Road, south westerly on Pemberton Road, then north westerly on Chaytor Road to the western side of the closure and vice versa.
The maximum duration of the Order is 18 months. The proposed works are to commence on 23/10/23 and for the duration of the works anticipated to be over 33 days for the three-phase works (prep works, main works and post surfacing joint sealing works). On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
