What is happening?

THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF NEWCASTLE–UNDER–LYME
TOWN POLICE CLAUSES ACT 1847 BY CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT 1982 (AS AMENDED)
(VARIOUS STREETS, SURROUNDING WATLANDS VIEW, PORTHILL) (TEMPORARY NO ENTRY) ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that The Borough Council of Newcastle-under-Lyme in exercise of its powers under Section 21 of the Town Police Clauses Act 1847 and all other enabling powers on 19th October 2023, made an Order, the effect of which is that no person shall, except upon the direction or with the permission of a Police Constable in uniform, drive or ride any motor vehicle, horse, cart, carriage, bicycle or other vehicle of any description in or along the roads specified in the Schedule, or cause or permit any vehicle to enter the road or length of roads as specified in the Schedule hereto.

Any person who wilfully breaches the Order shall be liable on summary conviction to a penalty not exceeding Level 3 on the standard scale.

SCHEDULE
The closure will take place on Sunday 12th November 2023
1. Cauldon Avenue between Hanbridge Avenue and Clare Avenue
2. Heaton Terrace between Clare Avenue and Watlands View
3. Watlands View between Sparrow Terrace and roundabout outside St. Andrews Church, Porthill
