Station Road, Temporary Traffic Restrictions Due To Vegestation Works

What is happening?

WESTMORLAND AND FURNESS COUNCIL (B5282 STATION ROAD, ARNSIDE) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that to enable Network Rail to carry out vegetation clearance works ("the Works"), Westmorland and Furness Council intends to make an Order the effect of which is to;

Prohibit any vehicle from waiting at any time, on any day and/or from loading and unloading, at any time, on any day (including blue badge holders) along the south western side of the B5282 Station Road, Arnside, from a point approx. 70m north west of its junction with Sandside Road, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 200m.

Duration: From 13th November 2023 for approx. 3 days Prohibit all traffic (i.e. vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists), from proceeding along that section of the B5282 Station Road, Arnside, from its junction with Sandside Road, extending in a north westerly direction for a distance of approx. 110m.

Alternative Route: via the unrestricted sections of Station Road, Silverdale Road, Briery Bank and Black Dyke Road. Duration: From 13th November 2023 for approx. 3 days between the hours of 09:00 to 15:30 only.

Nothing in the Order to which this notice relates shall:

(i) Apply emergency service personnel or vehicles, or vehicles being used by statutory undertakers in the performance of their duties; and

(ii) Apply to anything done with the permission or at the direction of a police constable in uniform; and

(iii) Have the effect of preventing at any time access for pedestrians to any premises situated on or adjacent to the roads, or to any other premises accessible for pedestrians from, and only from the roads; and

(iv)Apply to personnel or vehicles being used in connection with the Works.

The Order will come into operation on 13th November 2023 and may continue in force for a maximum duration of eighteen months. However, please note that it is anticipated that the restrictions will only be required for 3 days, and only as and when the appropriate traffic signs are displayed.
