HAMPSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL

THE HAMPSHIRE (TEST VALLEY BOROUGH COUNCIL NO.37)

(PARISH OF HOUGHTON - FOOTPATH NO. 7)

PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP

AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER 2023

On the 12 October 2023 Hampshire County Council confirmed the above Order made under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980.

The effect of the Order as confirmed is to divert the public footpath from its original alignment commencing at a point on Houghton Footpath 7 SU 3401 3481 proceeding north-westward through Houghton Down Farm to a junction with Road A.30 Salisbury Road, to a new alignment commencing at SU 3401 3481 and proceeding in a north-easterly direction following the field boundary to SU 3416 3523 and continuing in a north-westerly direction to a junction with Houghton BOAT 13.

A copy of the Order and the Order map have been placed and may be seen free of charge at the offices of Hampshire County Council, The Castle, Winchester, SO23 8UJ, and at the offices of Test Valley Borough Council, Beech Hurst, Weyhill Road, Andover, SP10 3AJ at all reasonable hours; and online at www.hants.gov.uk/publicnotices. Copies of the Order and the map can be provided on request.

The Order comes into force when Hampshire County Council has certified that the work necessary to bring the new path into a fit condition for use by the public has been carried out, but if any person aggrieved by the Order wants to question its validity, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers of the Highways Act 1980, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of the Act, as amended, or any regulation made under the Act has not been complied with in relation to the Order, he or she may, under paragraph 2 of Schedule 2 to the Act as applied by paragraph 5 of Schedule 6 to the Act, within six weeks from 27 October 2023 make an application to the High Court.
