(TEMPORARY ROAD RESTRICTION AND TRAFFIC REGULATION) ORDER 2023 – TEMP/23/231
The Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be that for a temporary period, when severe snow is forecast by the Met Office, no person shall, except with the permission of a Parking Attendant, cause or permit any vehicle to wait, or load onto or unload from any vehicle on both sides of the roads specified in the Schedule below: (a) to facilitate the clearance of snow; & (b) to maintain traffic flow after snow has fallen on main vehicular and bus routes. The Order shall have effect from 01/11/23 to 01/05/24. The restrictions outlined in the Order will supersede any existing provisions/ restrictions on the affected sections of roads described in the Schedule. SCHEDULE PROHIBITION OF WAITING, LOADING, AND UNLOADING DURING PERIODS OF HEAVY SNOWFALL: Balcarres St, Calder Rd, Comiston Rd, Craigour Ave, Craigour Drv, Dalry Rd, Drum Brae Drv, Gilmerton Dykes St, Gorgie Rd (incl. Stenhouse Rd, Aitkenhill, Delhaig & Chesser Cottages), Greenbank Cres, Kirk Brae, Lasswade Rd, Mansfield Rd (Balerno), Morningside Drv, Newtoft St & Oxgangs Ave.
