(TEMPORARY PUBLIC FOOTPATH CLOSURE) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Northumberland County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1)(a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. This is in accordance with section 15(8) of said Act and Regulation 7 of The Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Procedure Regulations 1992 in that the use of Public Footpath Number 4 in the Parish of Stannington in the County of Northumberland will be prohibited as follows:
Footpath Closure:-
1. From a point on Public Footpath No 4 in Stannington Vale, 50 metres west of the Plessey Hall Farm Viaduct in an easterly direction for a distance of 110 metres passing under the viaduct to a point 50 metres east of the Plessey Hall Farm Viaduct (“the Footpath”) in the County of Northumberland.
There is no alternative route available.
The Order is effective from the 31st October 2023 until the 30th April 2024.

The closure has been requested by Network Rail due to the unsafe condition of the Plessey Hall Farm Viaduct carrying the East Coast Main Line Railway and works will need to be undertaken to repair the viaduct.
