TEMPORARY 40MPH SPEED RESTRICTION A38 SOUTHERN CONNECTOR
(VARIOUS ROADS) (HARDWICKE AND HUNTS GROVE PARISHES) STROUD DISTRICT
Gloucestershire County Council, as traffic authority, intends to make an Order under the relevant
provisions of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended), to temporarily restrict parts of
the Roads as described in the Schedule below to a speed of 40mph.
Schedule

The speed restrictions are necessary due to construction of the new junction on the A38 North &
Southbound at Bristol Road.
The said roads are expected to be restricted from the 13th November 2023 until the? 2024

Alternative Route – as signed on site. Emergency access will be maintained. However,
pedestrian access will NOT be maintained as it is currently only available on the said B4008
Road and when works are being undertaken on the flyover/structure it will not be possible
to maintain safe public access due to working widths and by virtue that the works are being
undertaken on the footway/cycleway. The closure of the said B4008 is not expected for the full
duration of the works so access will be provided when it can safely be undertaken.

Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) to temporarily close part of the 481514 Seymour Road
from its junction with Theresa Street to its junction with Robinhood Street for a distance of
approximately 56 metres.
The reason for the closure is for water pipe renewal works.
The said road is expected to be closed from 30th October 2023 until 2nd November 2023

Gloucestershire County Council intend to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984
(as amended) to temporarily close and restrict part of the roads as described in the schedule below.
Schedule

The reason for the closures and restrictions is for carriageway patching works.
There will be no waiting or loading permitted throughout the duration of the works.
The roads are expected to be closed and restricted during various times on a rolling programme
commencing 7th November 2023 where the presence of approved signage will indicate whether
the closures and restrictions are in force. Further advance warnings of dates/times will be
displayed on site prior to the closure/restrictions taking effect. This order can permit the closure
and restriction of the roads in any order, or simultaneously as required and it is anticipated

The reason for the closure is for highway strengthening works.
There will be no waiting along the road throughout the duration of the works.
The road is expected to be closed from 6th November 2023 until 17th November 2023 or
