Abbey Wall Road, Pittenweem - Temporary Traffic Restrictions

What is happening?

THE FIFE COUNCIL (ABBEY WALL ROAD,

PITTENWEEM) (TEMPORARY TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS) ORDER 2023

Fife Council has made an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 to restrict the use of

Abbey Wall Road as detailed below –

(i)  Phase 1 – Temporary Road Closure

Abbey Wall Rd (from Marygate to Braehead Rd). The alternative route for vehicular traffic is via Braehead Rd, St Abbs Cres, Milton Pl and Marygate. Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained.

(ii) Phase 2 – Temporary Traffic Lights

A bbey Wall Rd (from Braehead Rd to prop no. 65). Works will be carried out under traffic lights and the road will remain open.

(iii) Phase 3 – Temporary Road Closure

Abbey Wall Rd (from prop no. 65 to East Shore). There is no alternative route for vehicular traffic. Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained.

(iv) Temporary No Waiting/No Loading At Any Time

Abbey Wall Rd (both sides for the entire length).

The Order is to allow carriageway and footway resurfacing works to be carried out in safety and will be operational from 06/11/23 to 24/11/23 or until earlier completion of the works. The works will be carried out in phases and restrictions will be in place as indicated by signed on site.
