Compulsory Purchase Of Land And New Rights In The District Of Teignbridge
On 24th October 2023 Devon County Council made The Devon County Council (A382 Greycoat Lane Improvements, Newton Abbot) Compulsory Purchase Order 2023 under sections 239, 240 and 246 of the Highways Act 1980. The Council is about to submit this order to the Secretary of State for Transport for confirmation and if confirmed the order will authorise the Devon County Council to purchase compulsorily the land and the new rights described below for the purpose of:-
Facilitating the development and improvement of a highway in Teignbridge consisting of the A382 between Trago Mills Roundabout and Forches Cross which is likely to contribute to the achievement of the promotion or improvement of the economic, social or environmental well-being of the acquiring authority’s area; and the use of land in connection with the construction or improvement of a highway or with the carrying out of works authorised under the Devon County Council (A382 Greycoat Lane Improvements) (Side Roads) Order 2023; and the provision of new means of access to premises in pursuance of the Devon County Council (A382 Greycoat Lane Improvements) (Side Roads) Order 2023; and mitigating the adverse effect which the existence or use of the proposed highway works will have on its surroundings; and use by the acquiring authority in connection with the construction and improvement of highways, bridleways and footpaths

Any objection to the order must be made in writing to the Department for Transport, National Transport Casework Team, Tyneside House, Skinnerburn Road, Newcastle Business Park, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE4 7AR quoting the reference BLD/Greycoat Lane, before 7th December 2023 and should state the title of the order, the grounds of objection and the objector’s address and interests in the land. (Please note that in submitting an objection it should be noted that personal data and correspondence relating to any objection will be passed to Devon County Council in order that the Council can contact you directly to address the issues raised. If any person does not wish personal data to be so used, they should state why when submitting the objection and the Secretary of State will copy the representations to the Council with the name and address removed and if there is to be a local public inquiry the representations will be seen by the Inspector who may give them less weight).

All interests in 46 square metres of a private car park on the southern side of Greycoat Lane
All interests in 159 square metres of a private car park on the southern side of Greycoat Lane
All interests in 2130 square metres of agricultural land on the north east side of the A382 Bovey Tracey Road
