Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Wrecclesham Road (A325) Farnham that is crossed under the bridge known as “Wrecclesham Road Bridge” and for a distance of 15 metres either side. Alternative Route: (1) (A325) Wrecclesham Road, (A325) Wrecclesham Hill, (B3384) Echo Barn Lane, (B3384) Shortheath Road, (B3384) Ridgway Road, Old Farnham Lane, Great Austins, Tilford Road, (B3001) Station Hill, (A31) Farnham By-pass; and (2) (A325) Wreccelsham Road, (A31) Farnham By-pass, (A31) Shepherd and Flock Roundabout, 4th exit onto (A31) Farnham By-pass, (B3001) Station Hill, Tilford Road, Great Austins, Old Farnham Lane, (B3384) Ridgway Road, (B3384) Shortheath Road, (B3384) Echo Barn Lane, (A325) Wreccelsham Hill, and (A325) Wrecclesham Road. This Order is required to facilitate detailed bridge inspection works for, or on behalf of Network Rail. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 1 night between the hours of 9pm and 5am, during the 18-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 23 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the Marshalls on site, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
