Notice of Public Path Order
Town and Country Planning Act 1990 – Section 257 and Paragraph 1 of Schedule 14
(Footpaths LSO 8 (Part) and LSO 10 (Part) west of Trinity Lane,
Chipping Sodbury) Public Path Diversion Order 2023

The above order was made on 11 October 2023. The effect of the order will be to divert that length of public footpath LSO 8 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Sodbury from Point X (grid reference ST 7296 8294) where it leaves the unaffected part of LSO 8 at the field boundary and stream, running generally eastwards for 145m across the field to Point B (grid reference ST 7310 8293) where it meets footpath LSO 10, shown by a bold black line marked X - B on the order map; and that length of public footpath LSO 10 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Sodbury from Point A (grid reference ST 7302 8268) where it leaves the adopted highway at St Johns Way, running north-northeastwards for 260m across two fields to Point B (grid reference ST 7310 8293) where it meets footpath LSO 8 at the corner of the field shown by a bold black line marked A - B on the order map – to a new line running from LSO 8 – From Point X (grid reference ST 7296 8294) at the field boundary, running southeastwards along a surfaced path for 15m to Point Y (grid reference ST 7297 8293) then continuing to follow the laid out path generally eastwards through a green corridor for 124m to Point H (grid reference ST 7309 8292) then turning northeastwards along the spur of laid out path for 13m to Point B (grid reference ST 7310 8293) where the path meets the existing line of LSO 8 at Trinity Lane. Having a width throughout of 2m and shown by bold black dashes marked X - Y - H - B on the order map; and LSO 10 – from Point A (grid reference ST 7302 8268) at the adopted highway on St. Johns Way running west along the verge for 8m to Point C (grid reference ST 7301 8268) where it turns north for a further 8m then curves generally north-northwestwards following a surfaced path alongside the hedgerow for 69m to Point D (grid reference ST 7299 8275) then turning sharply to follow the footway running eastnortheastwards parallel to the estate road for 84m to Point E (grid reference ST 7308 8277), then turning sharply to cross the estate road northwards to the other side of the road for 9m to Point F (grid reference ST 7308 8278) then turning to follow the path along the estate road eastwards for 7m to Point G (grid reference ST 7308 8278) where it then continues along a surfaced path curving to follow the hedge line generally northwards for 150m to Point H (grid reference ST 7309 8292) where it meets the proposed route for footpath LSO 8. Having a width throughout of 2m and shown by bold black dashes marked A - C - D - E - F - G - H on the order map. Please note that all representations received may be considered in public by the Council and that the substance of any representation together with the name and address of the person making it could become available for public inspection. If no such representations or objections are duly made, or if any so made are withdrawn, South Gloucestershire District Council may itself confirm the order as an unopposed order. If the order is sent to the Secretary of State for the Environment for confirmation any representations or objections which have not been withdrawn will be sent with the order.

(Wapley Hill, Westerleigh) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Wapley Hill which extends from a point 750m north west of Codrington Road north westwards for 125m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon new water service connection works on or adjacent to the highway. The order will be operative from 20 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 12 days duration. Alternative route: Westerleigh Road, Shorthill Road, Codrington Road and vice versa.

(Public Footpath KW/23/20, Hanham)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Foot Passengers) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of Public Footpath KW/23/20 which extends from a point 40m north of Wesley Avenue northwards for 75m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with sewer maintenance works.

The order became operative from 1 November 2023 for a maximum period of six months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of a 1 month duration.

Alternative route: Wesley Avenue, Wilshire Avenue, Woodyleaze Drive and vice versa.

(Berkeley Road and Pleasant Road, Staple Hill)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians the lengths of road specified in column 1 of Schedule 1 to this notice.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon gas main upgrade works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 30 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works It is anticipated that the works relating to each location will be carried out on the dates specified in relation to each length of road in column 2 of the said Schedule 1. See Schedule 2 for alternative routes.

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Newpit Lane which extends from a point 200m north west of Golden Valley Lane northwards for 30m.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon pole renewal and tree cutting works on or adjacent to the highway.

The order will be operative from 20 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 2 days duration.

Alternative route: Beach Hill, Golden Valley Lane and vice versa.

(Rock Lane, Stoke Gifford) (No.2) (Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles, Foot Passengers, Pedal Cycles and Equestrians) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended have made an order the effect of which has closed, temporarily, to vehicles, foot passengers, pedal cycles and equestrians that length of Rock Lane which extends from a point 100m east of Field Farm Close generally eastwards for 30m.

This order was required for the following reason: in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon fire hydrant replacement works on or adjacent to the highway. The order became operative from 30 October 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months.

The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 days duration.

Alternative route: Rock Lane (parts unaffected), North Road and vice versa.

(Various Roads, Filton (Northern Section) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2023

NOTICE is hereby given that on 18 October 2023 South Gloucestershire District Council made an order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3) and 4(2) of and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended the effect of which is to: a) prohibit vehicles waiting at any time (double yellow lines) in lengths of Blenheim Drive, Boverton Road, Branksome Crescent, Branksome Drive, Bridgman Grove, Bude Road, Canberra Grove, Charles Road, Cleve Road, Conygre Grove, Conygre Road, Cul-de-Sac off Filton Avenue, Filton Avenue, Glebelands Road, Holmdale Road, Lower House Crescent, Mayville Avenue, Meadowsweet Avenue, Rectory Lane, Rodney Crescent, Sandown Road, Station Road, The Mead, Ventnor Road, Wades Road, Warren Road and Whittle Close, Stoke Gifford; b) prohibit vehicles waiting during specified days and times (single yellow lines) in lengths of Blenheim Drive, Boverton Road, Conygre Road, Filton Avenue, Meadowsweet Avenue and Rodney Crescent, Stoke Gifford; c) restrict vehicles waiting during specified days and times (limited waiting bays) in lengths of Blenheim Drive, Conygre Road and Rectory Lane, Stoke Gifford; d) vary further the South Gloucestershire Council (Southern Brooks Area) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) (Consolidation) Order 2012, as varied, in so far as it relates to the lengths of road specified in item a) to item c) above, the provisions of which will be brought forward into the new order; and e) revoke the South Gloucestershire Council (Blenheim Drive and Conygre Road area, Filton) (Prohibition of Waiting) Order 2018, the provisions of which will be brought forward into the new order. Exemptions in the order permit any vehicle to wait for the purpose of boarding or alighting; loading or unloading goods; Post Office services; maintenance of the road; supply of gas, water or electricity; the pursuance of statutory powers or duties; taking in petrol, oil, water or air from any garage; weddings or funerals and in accordance with the current provisions for vehicles which display a disabled person’s badge.

The order will come into operation on 1 November 2023 and a copy thereof together with a map, copies of any orders to be varied/revoked and a copy of the Council’s Statement of Reasons for making the order, may be inspected at Patchway One Stop Shop, The Patchway Hub, Rodway Road, Patchway and at Filton Public Library, Shield Retail Park, Link Road, Filton, South Gloucestershire, during normal opening hours.

Any person who desires to question the validity of, or of any provision contained in the order on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, or on the grounds that any of the relevant requirements of that Act has not been complied with in relation to the order, may within six weeks after the date on which the order was made, apply to the High Court for this purpose.

The above order was made on 18 October 2023. The effect of the order will be to divert the length of public footpath running from LYA 59 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Iron Acton from Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it meets footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 60 behind The Old Chapel running northwards alongside the field boundary for 66m to Point B (grid reference 6991 8406) then turning eastwards following the field boundary for 138m to meet the unaffected part of footpath LYA 59 at Point C (grid reference ST 7005 8407) just before the path crosses the field boundary. Shown by a bold black line marked A - B - C on the order map; and the length of public footpath LYA 60 in the Unitary District of South Gloucestershire in the Parish of Iron Acton from Point D (grid reference ST 7007 8391) where it meets Engine Common Lane running north-westwards for 188m, through a residential garden and then across the field to Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it meets footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 59 shown by a bold black line marked D - A on the order map – to a new line running from Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it meets footpath LIA 46 behind The Old Chapel running along a laid out path within the development site north-eastwards for 7m, then continuing northwards for 44m before curving east north-eastwards for 14m to meet Point E (grid reference ST 6992 8406) then continuing to follow the site boundary generally eastwards along the laid out path for a 117m and then turning north eastwards for 15m to meet the unaffected part of LYA 59 at the field boundary at Point C (grid reference ST 7005 8407). Having a total length of 197m and a width throughout of 3m, narrowing in places to not less than 2m to avoid trees. Shown by bold black dashes marked A - E - C on the order map; and from Point Y (grid reference ST 7008 8393) where it leaves Engine Common Lane running north-westwards for 23m on a multi-user path to Point X (grid reference ST 7006 8394) then on the estate road pavement for 72m before crossing an estate road for 7m and continuing for 45m before turning westwards for a further 38m alongside the estate road to Point Z (grid reference ST 6991 8398) where the path turns away from the estate road generally north north-westwards for 13m to Point A (grid reference ST 6990 8400) where it joins with footpaths LIA 46 and LYA 59 behind The Old Chapel. Definitive Map and Statement Modification Order 2023

The above Order made on 18 October 2023, if confirmed as made, will modify the definitive map and statement for the area by adding to them the footpath OAY 124 adding to the particulars relating to the footpath commencing at the western end of the adopted highway, Oaklands Drive, Point A on the order plan (grid reference ST 6039 8366), where it enters the grounds of ‘Oaklands’ and runs north westwards following the property boundary alongside No.22 Oaklands Drive for 56m. Here it briefly turns west north westwards for a further 10m to Point X (grid reference ST 6035 8371) before turning west south westwards through the wooded grounds for 114m to the boundary between ‘Oaklands’ and the field beyond, Point Y on the order plan (grid reference ST 6024 8368). From this point it continues for a further 4m to meet public footpath OAY 50 within the field at Point B (grid reference ST 6023 8368). Shown as a bold broken line marked A - X - Y - B on the order map. The width of the path is 2m throughout its length. The total length is 184m.

(Footpath OAY 87/10 Catbrain Hill, Patchway)
(Temporary Prohibition of use by Foot Passengers) Order 2017

Notice is hereby given that the above order, made by South Gloucestershire District Council on 15 November 2017, has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 2 May 2024 or until such time as the works are completed, whichever is the earlier.

The effect of the order has closed, temporarily, to foot passengers that length of footpath OAY 87/10 which extends from a point south of Cribbs Causeway Centre to footpath OAY 88/10.

This order was required in connection with the likelihood of danger to the public consequent upon development works and would have expired on 1 November 2023.

Alternative Route: Provided footpath west of the existing route around the edge of the development, re-joining OAY 88/10 and vice versa.

(Cribbs Causeway – Northbound, Almondsbury)
(Temporary Prohibition of Use by Vehicles) Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that South Gloucestershire District Council in pursuance of the provisions of section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended intends to make an order the effect of which will be to close, temporarily, to vehicles that length of the northbound carriageway of Cribbs Causeway which extends from Station Road to The Laurels.

This order is required for the following reason: in connection with resurfacing works.

The order will be operative from 14 November 2023 for a maximum period of eighteen months. The closure however may not be implemented for the whole of the period but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works which are anticipated to be of 3 nights duration, between the hours of 8pm and 6am.
