What is happening?

SECTION 14(1) OF THE ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council intends to make Orders to close temporarily to all traffic:

A) C172 (Part), Kington St Michael and Yatton Keynell; from outside its property known as Cromhall Farm for a distance of approximately 415m in a south westerly direction to enable Gigaclear to carry out blockage clearance and associated works. Alternative route via C172 (unaffected length) -C86 - B4039 - C153 - C154 - C172 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 13 November 2023 and the closure will be required for 3 days. B) C414 (Part), Purton; from its property known as No.15 Widham for a distance of approximately 260m in a southerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out works to access joint boxes for gully servicing, cabling, jointing and other associated works. Alternative route via C414 (unaffected length) - B4553 - C70 - C28 - C414 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 16 November 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. C) Coxstalls (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett; from outside its property known as No.23 Coxstalls for a distance of approximately 50m in a north westerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out works to provide a new customer connection and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 16 November 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 for 1 day. D) Union Street, Ramsbury; from its junction with Oxford Street to its junction with Newtown Road to enable Wales & West Utilities Ltd to lay new service and associated works. Alternative route via Scholards Lane - Oxford Street and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and the closure will be required for 5 days. E) A4361 (Part), Avebury, Winterbourne Monkton and Berwick Bassett; from its junction with Green Street, Avebury to its junction with Berwick Bassett to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out carriageway resurfacing, replacement of road markings, adjustment of ironworks and other associated works. Alternative route via A4361 (unaffected length) to County Boundary - B4005 - A3102 - A4 - A4361 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and the closure will be required between the hours of 19:00 and 06:00 until 04 November 2023. F) C86 (Part), Biddestone; from its junction with Harts Lane for a distance of approximately 130m in a south easterly direction to enable Scottish and Southern Power Distribution to carry out dismantling of old overhead supply and installation of a new underground supply and other associated works. Alternative route via C86 (unaffected length) - A4 - A350 - A420 - C86 (unaffected length) and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and the closure will be required until 27 October 2023. G) A342 (Part), Rushall; from its junction with Church Lane to its junction with Rushall Drove to enable Wiltshire Council to carry out new footway construction and embankment works and other associated works. Alternative route for vehicles under 4.5 metres via A342 (unaffected length) - A345 - Rushall Road - Pewsey Road and vice versa. Alternative route for vehicles over 4.5 metres via A342 (unaffected length) - A338 - A346 - A4 - A361 - A342 (unaffected length) and vice versa. H) C414 (Part), Purton; from its junction with C34 to its junction with Pavenhill to enable Gigaclear to carry out works to clear blockages in the carriageway and verge and other associated works. Alternative route via C414 (unaffected length) - B4553 - B4040 - B4696 - B4042 - C414 (unaffected length) and vice versa. I) Westcourt Lane (Part), Burbage; from its junction with Westcourt Road for a distance of approximately 211m in a northerly direction to enable Openreach to carry out access to overhead network - cabling for new customer connection and other associated works. No alternative route is available. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and the closure will be required for 1 day. For further information please contact Openreach on 03700500792.

J) Brewhouse Hill (Part), Froxfield; from its property known as Chapel House for a distance of approximately 50m in a south westerly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out new sewer connection and associated works. Alternative route via Brewhouse Hill (unaffected length) -School Lane - Chisbury Lane - Hugditch Lane - A4 and vice versa. This Order will come into operation on 25 October 2023 and the closure will be required for 3 days. For further information please contact Thames Water on 0800 316 9800.

K) C415 (Part), Royal Wootton Bassett and Broad Town; from its junction with C15 for a distance of approximately 200m in a south easterly direction to enable Thames Water to carry out work to set up a new connection and other associated works. Alternative route via C415 (unaffected length) - C119 - C15 and vice versa. This Order which previously came into operation on 30 August 2023 will now recommence on 26 October 2023 and the closure will be required for 4 days. Orders A) to J) will have a maximum duration of 18 months, Order K) has a maximum duration of 18 months. The closures and diversion routes will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. It is anticipated that the works will take the stated duration to complete depending upon weather conditions. Access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible, although delays are likely due to the nature of the works.

THE COUNTY OF WILTSHIRE (VARIOUS ROADS)

(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER (NO.31) 2023

Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily, to all vehicles, the lengths of road specified in the Schedule to this notice. The order is required to enable carriageway patching, surface dressing and associated maintenance works and will be operative from the 23 October 2023 for a maximum period of 18 months.

The closures are anticipated to be for up to 5 days but only when traffic signs are in position and only for so long as is necessitated by the works. It is anticipated that advance signs will be deployed 2 weeks prior to the closure dates. Access will be maintained where possible although delays are likely due to the nature of the works. The closures are anticipated to take place between 23 October 2023 and 01 December 2023.

14. Vicarage Lane, Upavon; from its junction with A342 for its entire length.

15. A345 (Part), Upavon, Rushall and North Newnton; from its junction with A342 to its junction with C351.

Notice is hereby given that the Wiltshire Council has made an Order to close temporarily to all users: Footpath 89, Purton; from its junction with Restrop Road to its junction with Footpath 90, Purton to enable to undertake works associated with planning permission.

Alternative route using the public rights of way network and highway network. The closure and diversion route will be clearly indicated by traffic signs. This Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 and it is anticipated that the closure will be required for 06 months. The Order will have a maximum duration of 6 months. Notice is hereby given that Wiltshire Council proposes to make the above Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and Order 1 under the Traffic Management Act 2004 the effect of which is as follows:

Order 1 - To amend the following restrictions in the Chippenham and Chippenham Without Consolidation Order 2019 by introducing new Map Schedule No.DA36 the effect of which will be to introduce No Waiting at any time on Saltersford Lane, Chippenham - east side - from a point 260 metres south of its junction with B4528 for a distance of 54 metres in a south westerly direction; Saltersford Lane, Chippenham - west side - from a point 260 metres south of its junction with B4528 for a distance of 41 metres in a south westerly direction.

Order 2 - To introduce a Prohibition of Motor Vehicles (except for access) on Saltersford Lane, Chippenham - i) from a point 291 metres south of its junction with B4528 for a distance of 13 metres in a south westerly direction ii) from a point 319 metres south of its junction with B4528 for a distance of 88 metres in a south westerly direction iii) from a point 407 metres south of its junction with B4528 for a distance of 36 metres in a south westerly direction.

Order 3 - To introduce a 30mph speed limit on Saltersford Lane, Chippenham - from its junction with B4528 in a south westerly direction to its junction with A350 West Cepen Way.

Deposit copies of the Orders, plans and Statement of the Council's Reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be inspected at the offices of Wiltshire Council, County Hall, Bythesea Road, Trowbridge during normal office hours. NOTICE OF MAKING OF PUBLIC PATH DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICATION ORDER HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 AND WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL TOCKENHAM 7 DIVERSION AND DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT MODIFICTAION ORDER 2023

The above named Order, made on 6th October 2023 under section 119 of the Highways Act 1980 and section 53 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, will divert the public right of way over the land situate east of the village of Tockenham, SN4 7PJ, in the parish of Tockenham, from its current position leading from its western junction at OS Grid Reference SU 04180 79286, in a south easterly direction for approximately 125 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 04297 79254 then north easterly for approximately 125 metres to SU 04362 79359 , to an alternative route leading from OS Grid Reference SU 04180 79286, in a generally east north easterly direction for approximately 200 metres to OS Grid Reference SU 04362 79359 having a width of 3 metres. The order will alter the Cricklade and Wootton Bassett Rural District Council definitive map and statement dated 1952 accordingly. NOTICE OF CONFIRMATION OF MODIFICATION ORDER SECTION 53 OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 WILTSHIRE COUNCIL THE DEFINITIVE MAP AND STATEMENT FOR THE MELKSHAM URBAN DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA DATED 1953 AND THE BRADFORD AND MELKSHAM RURAL DISTRICT COUNCIL AREA DATED 1952 AS MODIFIED UNDER THE PROVISIONS OF THE WILDLIFE AND COUNTRYSIDE ACT 1981 THE WILTSHIRE COUNCIL PARISH OF MELKSHAM PATH NO. 107 & MELKSHAM WITHOUT PATH NO. 151 RIGHTS OF WAY MODIFICATION ORDER 2020

On 08 September 2023, the Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs confirmed as made the above order with a modification to the map key to remove the text "Footpath subject to deed of dedication C oooo D". The above order, made on 18 March 2020, modifies the definitive maps and statements for the area by adding to them footpaths leading from MELK4 Murray Walk (OS Grid ref. ST9066 6453) alongside the River Avon in a north north easterly direction to the field known as 'Forty Acres' where south south east after the stream and south east and broadly east across MELW66, along field edge to Woodrow Road. Also spur across the River Avon using the concrete bridge to the public open space land at Riverside Drive (width 1.6 metres except for short section in Forty Acres where 2.0 metres approx. length 1650 metres).
