What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

DOVER AREA

Barnsole Road, Staple CT3 1LD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Barnsole Road, Staple, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 6 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Mill Road and Mill Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Chalkpit Lane, Barnsole Road and vice versa.

 

Biggin Street & New Street, Dover CT17 9AD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & SUSPENSION OF ONE-WAY) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Biggin Street & New Street, Dover, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Biggin Street will be closed between the junctions of Cannon Street and Worthington Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cannon Street, Market Square, King Street, Queen Street, A256 York Street, Worthington Street and vice versa.

New Street will be closed between the junctions of Cannon Street and A256 York Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

The one-way Order on Biggin Street, Cannon Street & Market Square, will be suspended to allow access. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

 

College Road, Deal, CT14 6DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow water works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of College Road, Deal, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 30 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 62. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Alfred Square, Middle Street, North Street, Beach Street, The Marina, Harold Road and vice versa.

 

Exchange Street, Deal CT14 6LW (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Exchange Street, Deal, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Middle Street and Beach Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Beach Street, North Street, Middle Street and vice versa.

 

Kings Road, Aylesham CT3 3HU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Kings Road, Aylesham, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed, from number 38, to number 44. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via Cornwallis Avenue, Dorman Avenue North and Market Place.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Market Place, Dorman Avenue North and Cornwallis Avenue.

 

Lower Road & Alkham Road, Temple Ewell CT16 3DY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Lower Road & Alkham Road, Temple Ewell, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

Lower Road will be closed at the junction with Alkham Road, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Lower Road, High Street, London Road, Alkham Road and vice versa.

Alkham Road will be closed, between the junctions of London Road and Lower Road, between the hours of 22:00 and 06:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Southbound through traffic is via London Road, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 Buckland Avenue, A256 Barton Road, A256 Frith Road, Castle Avenue, Park Avenue, A256 Maison Dieu Road, Pencester Road, Biggin Street, Priory Street, B2011 Folkestone Road, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Dover Hill, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road and Alkham Valley Road.

The alternative route for any Northbound through traffic is via Alkham Valley Road, A260 Alkham Valley Road, A260 Canterbury Road, A260 Hill Road Dual Carriageway, B2011 Dover Hill, B2011 New Dover Road, B2011 Folkestone Road, A256 Priory Road, A256 High Street, A256 London Road, A256 Crabble Hill, A256 London Road and London Road.

 

Old Charlton Road, Dover CT16 1HB (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Old Charlton Road, Dover, on or after 15th November 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Connaught Road and Roman Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 14:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Connaught Road, A258 Castle Hill Road, Dover Road and vice versa.

 

Preston Hill, Wingham CT3 1BX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Hill, Wingham, on or after 13th November 2023 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed at the junction with A257 Gobery Hill, between the hours of 20:00 and 05:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A257 Gobery Hill, A257 Roman Road, A257 Pedding Hill, A257 Ash Bypass, Nash Road, Elmstone, Nash Road, Preston Road and vice versa.

 

Preston Lane, Preston CT3 1EY (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Lane, Preston, on or after 31st October 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Preston Road and The Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Preston Road, Stourmouth, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Church Lane and The Street, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

Richborough Road, Ash CT3 2NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Richborough Road, Ash, on or after 14th November 2023 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Potts Farm to Sparrow Castle, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Ash Road, A257 Ash Bypass, Cop Street, Cop Street Road and vice versa.

 

Richborough Road, Ash CT3 2NQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Richborough Road, Ash, on or after 15th November 2023 for up to 1 day or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Sandhills Farm to Potts Farm, between the hours of 08:00 and 18:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Cooper Street Drove, A257 Ash Bypass, Cop Street, Cop Street Road and vice versa.

 

Rusham Road, Shatterling (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic, in 2 phases on part of Rusham Road, Shatterling, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 52 days or until the works have been completed.

Phase 1 - Rusham Road will be closed, from 30th October 2023, with estimated completion by 10th November 2023, from Wingham Wildlife Park Car Park to Rosedale Kennels. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rusham Road, A257 Roman Road, Beaute Lane and vice versa.

Phase 2 - Rusham Road will be closed, from 10th November 2023, with estimated completion by 19th December 2023, from Wingham Wildlife Park to A257 Gobery Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Rusham Road, A257 Roman Road, Beaute Lane and vice versa.

 

Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well CT3 1NG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wingham Well Lane, Wingham Well, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed, between the junctions of A257 Canterbury Road and Mill Road, between the hours of 09:30 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A257 Canterbury Road, B2046 High Street, B2046 Adisham Road, Snakes Hill and vice versa.
