Canterbury, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

CANTERBURY AREA

Coldharbour Lane, Bridge.​ CT4 5HH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Coldharbour Lane, Bridge, on or after 13th November 2023, for up to 5 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Coldharbour Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Coldharbour Lane, Bonny Bush Hill, Bridge Hill, High Street, Town Hill, Bekesbourne Road, Bifrons Hill, Station Road, School Lane, Chalkpit Hill, Adisham Road, Bramling Road, Poor Start Lane, Coldharbour Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Ham Shades Lane, Whitstable.​ CT5 2PS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Ham Shades Lane, Whitstable, from 19.30 hours on 30th October 2023, with estimated completion by 05.00 hours on 31st October 2023, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Queens Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Church Street, Castle Road, Queens Road and vice versa.

 

Herne Street, Herne. ​CT6 7HR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow sewer repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Herne Street, Herne, on or after 15th November 2023, for up to 3 days, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Curtis Wood Park Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via A291 Canterbury Road, Calcott Hill, Herne Bay Road, Sturry Hill, A28 Island Road, Staines Hill, Island Road, Canterbury Road, St Nicholas Roundabout, A299 Thanet Way, A291 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

 

Hollow Lane, Canterbury.​ CT1 3ZA (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow manhole works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hollow Lane, Canterbury, on or after 16th November 2023, for up to 2 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Iffin Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Wincheap, Old Dover Road, Nackington Road, Merton Lane, Iffin Lane and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Kimberley Grove, Seasalter.​ CT5 4BG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kimberley Grove, Seasalter, on or after 15th November 2023, for up to 1 day, between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 12, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

New House Lane, Canterbury.​ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New House Lane, Canterbury, on or after 30th October 2023, for up to 3 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Hilltop Community Hall, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via New House Lane, Iffin Lane, Chartham Downs Road, New House Lane and vice versa.

 

Pickelden Lane, Mystole.​ CT4 7DD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow drainage cleansing works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Pickelden Lane, Mystole, on or after 2nd November 2023, for up to one day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between Blandings and Pickelden Farmhouse to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Pickelden Lane, Mystole Lane, Thruxted Lane, Bobbin Lodge Hill, Shalmsford Street, A28 Canterbury Road and vice versa.

 

Riverside, Chartham.​ CT4 7NX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Riverside, Chartham, on or after 30th October 2023, for up to 3 days, between the hours of 08.00 and 17.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 5 Riverside Cottages, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

 

St Stephens Road, Canterbury.​ CT2 8SP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & TEMPORARY SUSPENSION OF WEIGHT LIMIT) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow sewer repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of St Stephens Road, Canterbury, on or after 19th November 2023, for up to 4 days, between the hours of 20.00 and 06.00, or until the works have been completed.

It will be necessary to temporarily suspend the environmental weight limit on Forty Acres Road, to allow for diverted traffic.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of number 20, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via St Stephens Road, St Stephen’s Hill, Beaconsfield Road, Forty Acres Road, A290 Whitstable Road, St Dunstans Street, Station Road West and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Station Road East, Canterbury.​ CT1 2QX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Station Road East, Canterbury, on or after 19th November 2023, for up to 1 day, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction of Rhodaus Town, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The restrictions on Station Road East will be in conjuction with a lane closure on Rhodaus Town.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via A28 Rhodaus Town, Pin Hill, Wincheap Green and Station Road East.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Stodmarsh Road, Wickhambreaux.​ CT3 1SG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023

To allow replacement pole works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Stodmarsh Road, Wickhambreaux, on or after 30th October 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 09.30 and 16.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Grove Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Stodmarsh Road, Grove Road, Wickham Court Lane, Hollybush Lane, Stodmarsh Road and vice versa.

 

The Firs, Hersden.​ CT3 4HS (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

To allow pipework repairs to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of The Firs, Hersden, on or after 3rd November 2023, for up to 10 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with The Avenue, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via The Firs, The Avenue, The Elms, Ash Crescent and vice versa.

 

Tyler Hill Annual Bonfire Night, Canterbury (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023

In the interest of road safety during and following the Tyler Hill Bonfire Night, Kent County Council has made an Order to impose temporary restrictions in the vicinity of Tyler Hill near Canterbury.

Restrictions apply on Saturday 4th November 2023 from 17:30 hours through to 22:30 hours, with closures lifted as soon as it is safe to do so.

The following roads will be closed to the extents shown:

Canterbury Hill - closed for its entire length

Wood Hill - closed for its entire length

Hackington Road - closed from Wood Hill to the junction with Link Road

Calais Hill - closed for its entire length

Summer Lane - closed from Wood Hill to the junction with Park Farm Close

Park Farm Close - closed for its entire length

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Link Road, Tyler Hill Road, A290 Blean Common, A290 Blean Hill, A290 Tile Kiln Hill, A290 Whitstable Road, Giles Lane and vice versa.
