EAST AVENUE, BOURNEMOUTH - GLENFERNESS AVENUE HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENTS

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended and the Traffic Management Act 2004,has made temporary traffic regulations, with the effects detailed below, to control traffic.

WHERE, WHAT AND WHEN:

- East Avenue (west of Glenferness Avenue),

closed to all vehicles and no parking - no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time, from its junction with Glenferness Avenue to its junction with Rothesay Road. Works anticipated to start from Monday 23rd October 2023 until Friday 1st December 2023.

- East Avenue (east of Glenferness Avenue), closed to all vehicles and no parking - no waiting at any time and no loading/unloading at any time, from its junction with Glenferness Avenue to its junction with Elgin Road. Works anticipated to start from Monday 11th December until Friday 22nd December 2023.

WHY: As part of the Glenferness Avenue Highway Improvements, road closures are required to facilitate the construction works taking place at the junction of Glenferness Avenue and East Avenue. Works to be carried out on behalf of Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole Council.

ACCESS: Full emergency services access will be maintained, access to properties will remain depending on site safety.

DIVERSION: the following diversion routes will supersede all those previously used during the Glenferness Avenue Works:

- From Monday 23 October 2023 - west of Glenferness Avenue: via Rothsesay Road, Dulsie Road and Alyth Road

- From Monday 11 December 2023 - east side of Glenferness Avenue: via Elgin Road and Alyth Road.

To ensure the safe passage of the bus service, traffic management will be in place on both sides of Elgin Road between East Avenue and Alyth Road and also on the southern side of Alyth Road between Elgin Road and Glenferness Avenue

These arrangements may be amended/extended should works overrun or weather conditions delay operations. Restrictions may be in effect under this Order for up to 18 months, and could be further extended with the approval of the Secretary of State.

The Council regrets any inconvenience to the public caused by this traffic order.
