What is happening?

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (LANGFORD: PART OF BRIDLEWAY NO 4) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that the Order made by Central Bedfordshire Council on the 14 April 2023 the effect of which will be to prohibit any person proceeding on foot or on horseback or lead a horse or cycle along the length of Bridleway No 4, Langford which extends from Ordnance Survey Grid Reference (OS GR) TL 1901 4017 in a southerly direction to OS GR TL 1900 3994 has been continued in force with the approval of the Secretary of State for Transport until 23 April 2024.

This temporary closure is required to enable development works to be carried out safely. The closure is expected to continue from 24 October 2023 for up to six months.

The alternative route for bridleway users while the closure is in operation will be:

From OS GR TL 1900 3992 proceed in a southerly direction along Bridleway No 4 to Footpath No 12, continue southerly and then easterly along Footpath No 12 until you reach Bridleway No 5 at OS GR TL 1833 3952. Continue north north-easterly along Bridleway No 5 and then northerly along Common Road. Turn right onto Cambridge Road footway heading east to Bridleway No 4 at OS GR TL 1901 4017 and vice versa.

The Order will continue in force until 23 April 2024 or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier. If the works are not completed within six months the Order may be extended for a longer period with the consent of the Secretary of State for Transport.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (HITCHIN ROAD, HENLOW) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Hitchin Road, Henlow between numbers 72 and 233. This temporary closure is required to enable safe access for manhole cleaning to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 7 November 2023 between the hours of 9am and 3pm.

The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A507, A600, B659 and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CHAPEL STREET, POTTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Chapel Street, Potton outside number 16.

This temporary closure is required to enable fire hydrant repair works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 7 to 9 November 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Horslow Street, Everton Road, B1040, Sun Street, Blackbird Street and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (STATION ROAD, LOWER STONDON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Station Road, Lower Stondon adjacent to number 81a.

This temporary closure is required to enable a new water supply connection to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 8 to 10 November 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Upton End Road, Meppershall Road, High Street, Shefford Road, A507, A600 and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (CHURCH STREET, CLIFTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Church Street, Clifton from Stockbridge Road to just after 68 Church Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 9 November 2023 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

There is no alternative route for this closure. The Order will come into operation on 6 November 2023 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing work to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BONDS LANE, BIGGLESWADE) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council intends not less than seven days from the date of this Notice to make an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bonds Lane, Biggleswade between Hitchin Street and the rear of number 10 Market Square.

This temporary closure is required to enable sewer connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 6 to 17 November 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Bonds Lane, Hitchin Street, Station Road, Saffron Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL

(HIGH STREET, SANDY) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of High Street, Sandy between Cambridge Road and Station Road.

This temporary closure is required to enable the installation of a new pedestrian crossing to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 October to 10 November 2023 between the hours of 9am and 3:30pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Swaden, Everton Road, Sandy and then onto Sandy Road, Tempsford Road, Everton Hill, Tempsford Road, Everton and then onto the A1, Tempsford and then onto Bedford Road (B1042), Downing Court, B1042, Sandy and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 for a period of twelve months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL(BIGGLESWADE ROAD, DUNTON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Biggleswade Road, Dunton between the roundabout with Sutton Road and High Street.

This temporary closure is required to enable carriageway resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 27 October 2023 between the hours of 8am and 6pm. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Sutton Road, B1042, High Street, Eyeworth Road, Cambridge Road, High Street and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

This temporary closure is required to enable water connection works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 29 October 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Thorncote Road, Northill outside plot numbers 1-4 at Copelands Farm.

This temporary closure is required to enable new water connections and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 25 to 27 October 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via Vinegar Hill, Ickwell Road, Caldecote Road, Northill Road and vice versa.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL (BEDFORD ROAD, LOWER STONDON) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF TRAFFIC) ORDER  2023

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Central Bedfordshire Council has made an Order the effect of which will be to prohibit any vehicle, except a vehicle being used for fire, police or ambulance purposes in an emergency, from proceeding along the length of Bedford Road, Lower Stondon outside Redrow Barrett developments.

This temporary closure is required to enable resurfacing works to take place and shall apply to such extent as may from time to time be indicated by the appropriate traffic signs. Where possible access will be maintained to property and premises but may be restricted from time to time according to local signing.

It is expected that the works will take place from 23 to 27 October 2023. The road will be closed at all times during this period.

The alternative route for this closure is via A600, A505, B656, A507, A600 and vice versa.

The Order will come into operation on 23 October 2023 for a period of eighteen months or until the proposed works have been completed, as detailed above, whichever is the earlier.

CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COUNCIL PROPOSES TO INTRODUCE NO WAITIN AT ANY TIME ON WHARF MEWS, BIGGLESWADE

Reason for proposal: The waiting restrictions are intended to address indiscriminate parking and to ensure that visibility is not obstructed by parked vehicles.

Effect of the Order:

To introduce No Waiting at Any Time on the following length of road in Biggleswade:-

1.  Wharf Mews, north side, from a point 8.5 metres west of the rear western boundary of No. 33 Shortmead Street and extending in a easterly direction for approximately 13.5 metres (up to a point in line with Lamp Column No.2.

2.  Wharf  Mews, south side, from a point 8 metres east of the eastern flank wall of No. 4 Wharf Mews and extending in an easterly direction for approximately 24 metres.
