What is happening?
THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Wellington Way (D3912) Weybridge Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the eastbound carriageway of Wellington Way (D3912) Weybridge which extends from its roundabout junction with The Heights, eastwards for a distance of 40m. This Order is required to enable Centurion to facilitate telecommunication works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 8am and 6pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 October 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – Brooklands Road, Parvis Road and Sopwith Drive or vice versa.
Holloway Hill (D169), Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Holloway Hill (D169), Godalming which extends between the the northern property boundary line of Troy House and the southern property boundary line of Holt House.
Alternative Route – Holloway Hill (D169), Tuesley lane (D169), Park Road (D5406), The Drive (D5406), Brighton Road (D2130) and Flambard way (A3100) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow BT Openreach to carry out telecom works which is anticipated to be completed within 3 days, between 8:00am and 6:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 October 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained with in the closure.
Ridgemead Road (D3110), Englefield Green, Egham Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Ridgemead Road (D3110), Englefield Green, Egham which extends from the junction of the property known as ‘Beech Hill Lodge’ to a point 107m westwards.
Alternative Route – Crimp Hill (D3110), Bishopsgate Road (D3111) and Castle Hill Road (D3110) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out gas works, which is anticipated to be completed within 12 days, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 23 October 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. No soul access to any property will be affected within the closure. Access for emergency vehicle, pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times.
River Bank (A3050) East Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of River Bank (A3050) East Molesey as extends from its junction with (D6935) Feltham Avenue to its junction with (A3050) Hurst Road. Alternative Route: (1) (A3050) Bridge Road, (A309) Hampton Court Way, (A3050) Creek Road, (B3379) Bridge Road, (B369) Walton Road, and (A3050) Hurst Road; (2) (A3050) Hurst Road, (B369) Walton Road, and (B3379) Bridge Road, (A3050) Bridge Road.
This Order is required to facilitate installation of electrical works for, or on behalf of UKPN. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 2 nights and 3 days between the hours of 8pm and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 03 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. In the event that it is necessary to restrict any access at any time, under Section 3 of the Act, the road can only be closed for a maximum of 8 hours in any 24 hour period.
Papercourt Lane (D236) Ripley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Papercourt Lane (D236) Ripley. Alternative Route: Tannery Lane, Polesden Lane, and (B367) Newark Lane, or this route in reverse. This Order is required to facilitate installation of new water connection works for, or on behalf of ALS Civil. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 26 days between the hours of 8am and 6pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 30 October 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the road plates on site, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists.
Various Roads in Waverley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order (No.6) 2023
On 18 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the lengths of roads specified in the Schedule to this Notice. This Order, which will commence on 30 October 2023 for a period of 18 months is required because works are being or are proposed to be executed on or near the said roads, to be carried out by or on behalf of Surrey County Council, including but not limited to: carriageway/footway patching and/or carriageway/ footway surface dressing and/or carriageway/ footway resurfacing and/or major highway maintenance works. Advanced warning signs will be displayed; and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner. Access for pedestrians and dismounted cyclists will be maintained at all times, as will access for emergency service vehicles in an emergency situation only. Vehicular access for residents and businesses will be maintained only when safe to do so, if necessary, via the diversion routes. During certain phases of the works, vehicular access to premises may be restricted, when this is the case such restriction of access will apply for no more than eight hours within any 24-hour period.

Bookham Road (D6877) Downside Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Bookham Road (D6877) Downside which comprises the Bookham Road railway bridge and 50m either side. This Order is required to enable Network Rail to facilitate bridge inspection works, which is anticipated to be completed overnight, between 9pm and 5am, during the 18 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 8 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists by marshal throuogh the closure. There is no alternative route available for this road closure.
Send Barns Lane/Clandon Road (A247) and Portsmouth Road/ London Road (B2215) Send Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of the circulatory carriageway comprised within the roundabout situated at or adjacent to the junctions of Send Barns Lane (A247), Portsmouth Road (A247), London Road (B2215) and Portsmouth Road (B2215) Send. This Order is required to enable BT/Openreach to carry out telecommunication works, which is anticipated to be completed overnight, between 8pm and 5am, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 7 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access to premises within the affected length of road including access by emergency vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, as will access for pedestrians and cyclists. Alternative Route – Portsmouth Road and High Street.
Little Hammer Lane (D5508) Hindhead Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Little Hammer Lane (D5508) Hindhead which extends from its junction with Old Bramshott Chase (D5508) to its junction with Upper Hammer Lane (D5508). Alternative Route – Little Hammer Lane (D5508), Old Bramshott Chase (D5508), High Pitfold (D5507), Glen Lea (D5507), Nutcombe Lane (D5507), Hindhead Road (A287), Critchmere Hill (D5508), Woolmer Hill Road (D5508), Upper Hammer Lane (D5508) and Little Hammer Lane (D5508) or the same route in reverse.
The Order is required to allow Southeast Water to carry out water works which is anticipated to be completed within 3 nights, between 6:00pm and 5:00am, during the 12-month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 06 November 2023. However, the closure is anticipated to be in place for 24 hours per day. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained via signed diversion route.
D6919 Avern Road and D6917 Molesey Park Road, West Molesey Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in:- a) The entire length of D6919 Avern Road, West Molesey. Alternative Route:- B369 Walton Road, D6920 Grange Road, D6918 Beauchamp Road and D6918 Glebelands. b) That length of D6917 Molesey Park Road, West Molesey that extends from the eastern side of its junction with D6922 Ray Road, to the western side of its junction with D6916 Spencer Road. Alternative Route:- D6916 Spencer Road, D6918 Beauchamp Road and D6922 Ray Road. This Traffic Order is required to enable Surrey County Council to carry out major maintenance and/or carriageway resurfacing and/or improvement works. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible within the 18 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 04 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency services, pedestrians and, dismounted cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. Access for residents and businesses will be maintained via the vehicular diversion routes described above.
Any vehicle found to be obstructing the highway during these works will be removed to a suitable location outside the limits of the works after all reasonable methods have been undertaken to identify and contact the vehicle’s owner.
A324 Dawney Hill, Pirbright Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of A324 Dawney Hill, Pirbright that extends from the southern side of its junction with B3012 Gole Road, to the northern side of its junction with Caterham Close. This Traffic Order is required to enable Amberon Traffic Management to enable surveying and/or construction and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 7pm and 7am, within 1 night of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times. No sole access to any property will be affected however access for residents and businesses will be maintained at all times via the alternative route:- Gole Road, Stanley Hill, Grange Road, School Lane and Dawney Hill.
Poole Lane (D3231) Stanwell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the entire length of Poole Lane (D3231) Stanwell. Alternative Route: Long Lane, and Short Lane. This Order is required to facilitate gas mains replacement works for, or on behalf of Cadent Gas. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 6 weeks between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required.
Stanwell Close (D3212) Stanwell Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Stanwell Close (D3212) Stanwell as extends from its junction with (D3212) Lintott Court and for a distance of 30 metres in a northerly direction. There is no alternative route for this closure. This Order is required to facilitate water maintenance works for, or on behalf of Affinity Water. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 5 days between the hours of 8am and 4pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 13 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via road plates if required.
Ockford Ridge (D5425) Godalming Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of the north to south cul- de- sac arm of Ockford Ridge (D5425) Godalming (including the turning circle at the southern end) that serves the properties No.53 to No.65.
This Order is required to facilitate installation of sewer works for, or on behalf of Thakeham Partnerships Ltd. These works are anticipated to be carried out over 4 months between the hours of 8am and 5pm, during the 12-month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 14 November 2023.
Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access to premises within the affected length of road, including access by emergency service vehicles to these properties will be maintained at all times, via the traffic marshalls and banksmen on site. There is no alternative route for this closure.
D237 Gambles Lane, Ripley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D237 Gambles Lane, Ripley that extends from the access road to “The Paddocks” for a distance of 200m in each direction. This Traffic Order is required to enable Affinity Water to carry out water mains service pipe repairs and/or connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 6pm, within 3 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of road plates. Alternative route:- Gambles Lane, Grove Heath Road, Rose Lane, Hungry Hill Lane and Gambles Lane.
D214 Woodhill Lane, Shamley Green Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of D214 Woodhill Lane, Shamley Green that extends from its junction with B2128 The Green, to the western side of its junction with D195 Stroud Lane. This Traffic Order is required to enable Network Plus to carry out water mains disconnection and/or upgrade and/or connection and/or maintenance works. These works are anticipated to be carried out between the hours of 8am and 5pm, within 4 days of the 12 month period of operation of this Temporary Order that commences on 20 November 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure which is anticipated to be required for 24 hours each day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for emergency vehicles, residents, businesses, pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians will be maintained at all times by means of road plates. Alternative route:- Woodhill Lane, The Green, Church Hill, Stroud Common and Stroud Lane.
Foreman Road (C18) Ash Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in the following lengths of Foreman Road (C18) Ash:- (a) as extends from its junction with (A323) Ash Church Road to its junction with (D4034) Foreman Park; (b) as extends from its junction with (D4034) Foreman Park to its junction with (X7267) Vyne Walk; and (c) as extends from its junction with (X7267) Vyne Walk to its junction with (X7290) Woodroffe Close. Alternative Route – Vehicular: Ash Church Road; Grange Road; and Foreman Road; Pedestrian: via Public Footpath No. 355, Ash. The Order is required to allow Section 278 development and construction works and/or any other associated works to be carried out by, or on behalf of VolkerFitzpatrick Ltd within the lengths of road described in this notice. These works are anticipated to be carried out as soon as possible over 33 weeks between the hours of 8am and 6pm within the 12-month period of operation of the Temporary Order that commences on 06 November 2023. These works are to be carried out in three phases, Phase 1 consisting of the works in part (a) to this Notice, anticipated to be carried out over 20 weeks commencing on 06 November 2023, Phase 2 consisting of the works in part (b) to this Notice, anticipated to be carried out over 9 weeks commencing on 24 May 2024 and Phase 3 consisting of the works in part (c) to this Notice anticipated to be carried out over 4 weeks commencing on 21 June 2024. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closures, which are anticipated to be in operation 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Due to the nature of the works, there will be no access through active works areas and all Vehicular traffic including the emergency services will be required to follow the signed diversion routes. Pedestrians and dismounted cyclists to follow the signed pedestrian diversion routes. No Sole Access will be affected.
Rose Lane (C40) Ripley Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
Surrey County Council propose to make the above-mentioned Temporary Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles from entering or proceeding in that length of Rose Lane (C40) Ripley which extends from its junction with High Street (B2215) southwards for a distance of 20m.
Alternative Route – High Street (B2215), Portsmouth Road (B2215), Clandon Road (A247), The Street (A247), Epsom Road (A246), The Street (A247) and Ripley Lane (C40).
The Order is required to allow Affinity water to carry out water works, which is anticipated to be completed within 2 days, between 8:00am and 5:00pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 4 November 2023. However, the closure is anticipated to be in place for 24 hours per day. Advanced warning signs will be displayed, and the temporary closure will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians and cyclists will be maintained at all times. Access for emergency vehicles and residents will be maintained with in the closure.

Public Footpath 184 (Windlesham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023
On 12 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-mentioned temporary order, the effect of which is to prohibit all traffic on foot or by any other means from entering or proceeding along the length of Public Footpath 184 (Windlesham) at the M3 Bagshot Heath footbridge over the M3 Motorway between OS Grid ref: 491334, 162314 and 491377, 162240.
The Order is necessary on the grounds of public safety due to the footbridge over the M3 Motorway being declared unsafe by National Highways. An emergency closure 21-day closure has been in place since 2 October 2023.
The closure will be in operation from 23 October 2023 until 2 April 2024. That period will then need to be extended further by the Secretary of State for Transport.
The temporary closure will only be in operation when appropriate road traffic signs are displayed on site by the County Council or an authorised person acting on its behalf. Access to properties will not be affected.
There is no suggested alternative route around the closure.
The Surrey County Council Public Footpath 184 (Windlesham) Temporary Prohibition of Traffic Order 2023 was made by the County Council under Section 14(1)&(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
