What is happening?

LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
BOLTON AVENUE, ACCRINGTON, HYNDBURN BOROUGH
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council intend to
make an Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation
Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit
traffic on the roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any class of vehicle to proceed over that length of
Bolton Avenue, Accrington from either side of the bridge.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of
the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 1000 hours to 1500 hours on Friday
10th November 2023 or until completion of the works within this period.
4. Pedestrian access to premises on or adjacent to the road will not be
prohibited by any provision of this order.
5. An alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closure is via:-
Whinney Hill Road - A680-B6237 - Penny House Lane-Burnley Road -
Bolton Avenue
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow detailed bridge examination
works to be carried out on behalf of Centurion Traffic Management
Authority given for this Order to be made:
