Lancashire - Road Closure to Allow Vegetation Management Works
What is happening?
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(U399 SCHOOL LANE AND U393 WARPERS MOSS LANE,
BURSCOUGH, WEST LANCASHIRE BOROUGH) (TEMPORARY
PROHIBITION OF THROUGH TRAFFIC) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Lancashire County Council have made an
Order under Section 14(1) (a) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984,
as amended, the effect of which will be to temporarily prohibit traffic on the
roads set out in this notice.
1. No person shall cause any motor vehicle to proceed over the following
lengths of highway in the West Lancashire Borough:-
i. U399 School Lane, Burscough from the property named Hayfield to the
property named Runnel Brow Cottage.
ii. U393 Warpers Moss Lane, Burscough from U399 School Lane to the
property named Archway Lodge.
2. Nothing in this order shall apply to persons engaged in the carrying out of
the works.
3. The prohibition will be operative from 0800 hours until 1700 hours on
Wednesday 1st November 2023 or until completion of the works within this
period. Access will be maintained whenever and wherever possible.
4. Alternative route for vehicular traffic affected by the closures are via:-
U399 School Lane, Burscough
A59 Liverpool Road North, Burscough - B5241 Junction Lane, Burscough -
A5209 Briars Lane, Burscough - A5209 Briars Lane, Lathom - C164 Ring O
Bells Lane, Lathom - U471 Carr Lane, Lathom and vice versa.
U393 Warpers Moss Lane, Burscough
A59 Moss Lane, Burscough - A59 Liverpool Road North, Burscough -
B5241 Junction Lane, Burscough - A5209 Briars Lane, Burscough - A5209
Briars Lane, Lathom - C164 Ring O Bells Lane, Lathom - U471 Carr Lane,
Lathom and vice versa.
The temporary prohibition is necessary to allow vegetation management
works to be carried out by Network Plus on behalf of Electricity North West.
