What is happening?
EAST SUSSEX COUNTY COUNCIL
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
The East Sussex (U7544 Down Lane, Frant) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2023
To allow Hailsham Roadways on behalf of East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex
County Council have made an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic
Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Down Lane – from the junction with A267 Mayfield Road for its entire length.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible.
The Order commences 23 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
23 and 25 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7466 Corseley Road, Groombridge) (Temporary Prohibition
of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow UKPN to carry out works, East Sussex County Council has made an Order under Sections
14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily
close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Corseley Road – from the junction with Florence Lane to Tall Trees.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7844 Motts Mill
– B2188 Cherry Gardens Hill, Hendall Hill – B2110 Withyham Road – C70 Station Road and
vice versa.
The Order commences 23 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
23 and 25 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7541 Old Station Road, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition
of Traffic) Order 2023
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order
under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Old Station Road – from the junction with U7524 Jonas Lane to the junction with C539 Three
Oaks Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via U7524 Jonas Lane
– B2099 Station Road – C539 Three Oaks Lane and vice versa.
The Order commences 23 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
23 and 25 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (U7542 Tapsells Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2023
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council have made an Order
under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will
temporarily close the following length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Tapsells Lane – from the junction with C271 Faircrouch Lane to the junction with B2099
Station Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C271 Faircrouch
Lane – Fairglen Road – B2100 Best Beech Hill – Mayfield Lane – B2099 Station Road and
vice versa.
The Order commences 26 October 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
26 and 30 October 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C2 Hindleap Lane, Forest Row) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2023
To allow East Sussex Highways to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less
than seven days from the date of this notice to make an Order under Sections 14(1) and 15(1)(b)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following
length of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Hindleap Lane – from the junction with A22 Lewes Road to the junction with C470 Priory Road.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C470 Priory Road
– A22 Lewes Road and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works
are completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works will be undertaken between
6 and 10 November 2023 depending upon the weather conditions.

The East Sussex (C271 Faircrouch Lane, Wadhurst) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic)
Order 2023
To allow South East Water to carry out works, East Sussex County Council intend not less than

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, which will temporarily close the following length
of road;
Temporary Road Closure
Faircrouch Lane – from the junction with B2099 Station Hill to the junction with the U7542
Tapsells Lane.
A safe route will be provided for pedestrians and vehicular access for residents and to properties
maintained whenever possible with an alternative route for through traffic via C271 Fairglen Road
– B2100 Best Beech Hill, Mayfield Lane – B2099 Station Road, Station Hill and vice versa.
The Order commences 6 November 2023 and lasts for a period of 18 months, or until works are
completed, whichever is earlier. However, it is anticipated works
will be undertaken between 6 and 9 November 2023 depending
upon the weather conditions.
