Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

A259 High Street & Sea Wall, Dymchurch TN29 0PP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING & PROHIBITION OF LEFT TURN) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sea Wall, Dymchurch. A temporary prohibition of no left turn will be imposed, on part of A259 High Street, Dymchurch, on or after 6th November 2023 for up to 15 days or until the works have been completed.

Sea Wall will be closed, at the junction with A259 High Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

A259 High Street will have a temporary prohibition of no left turn imposed, at the junction with Sea Wall. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Orgarswick Avenue, Eastbridge Road, Mill Road and vice versa.

 

Bridge Street, Denmark Street & Princess Street, Folkestone (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow road works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Bridge Street, Denmark Street & Princess Street, Folkestone, on or after 25th October 2023 for up to 17 hours or until the works have been completed.

Bridge Street will be closed at the junction with Canterbury Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only, from 25th October 2023, with estimated completion by 25th October 2023. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, Denmark Street, Alexandra Street and vice versa.

Denmark Street will be closed at the junction with Canterbury Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only, from 26th October 2023, with estimated completion by 26th October 2023. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, Bridge Street, Alexandra Street and vice versa.

Princess Street will be closed at the junction with Canterbury Road, between the hours of 07:00 and 19:00 only, from 27th October 2023, with estimated completion by 27th October 2023. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Canterbury Road, Denmark Street, Alexandra Street and vice versa.

 

Coolinge Road, Folkestone CT20 2SE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Coolinge Road, Folkestone, on or after 23rd October 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 45. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any Eastbound through traffic is via A2034 Cheriton Road, Victoria Grove and Guildhall Street North.

The alternative route for any Westbound through traffic is via Guildhall Street North, Connaught Road, A2034 Cheriton Road, Milfield, A2034 Cheriton Gardens and A2034 Cheriton Road.

 

Croft Lane, Folkestone CT20 3QD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Croft Lane, Folkestone, on or after 6th November 2023 for up to 3 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside number 1. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Coolinge Lane, Audley Road and vice versa.

 

Newington Road, Peene CT18 8FG (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow sewer works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Newington Road, Peene, on or after 23rd October 2023 for up to 7 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Danton Lane and The Street. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Street, A20 Ashford Road, Beachborough, Canterbury Road, Teddars Leas Road, Lane from junction Teddars Leas Road to Upper Arpinge, Lane From Junction Crete Road West and Danton Lane To Junction Arpinge Lane, Danton Lane, Hill Lane and vice versa.

 

St Denys Road, Hawkinge CT18 7AU (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of St Denys Road, Hawkinge, on or after 23rd October 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from number 4 to number 7. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Lane, Canterbury Road and vice versa.

 

Wills Lane, Newchurch TN29 0DT (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Wills Lane, Newchurch, on or after 10th November 2023 for up to 4 days or until the works have been completed. The road will be reopened on 11th November 2023 and 12th November 2023. The closure will resume 13th November 2023.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Newchurch Lane and Newchurch Road, between the hours of 08:00 and 16:00 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Wills Lane, Newchurch Road, From Newchurch To Junction With Newchurch Road Bilsington And Hony Wood Lane, Newchurch Lane and vice versa.
