What is happening?

THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY
COUNCIL
(PATCHING - GEDLING, BURTON JOYCE,
MAPPERLEY, WOODTHORPE)
(TEMPORARY PROHIBITIONS)
ORDER 2023 (G23-136)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Nottinghamshire
County Council intends not less than seven days from the
date of this Notice to make an Order, under Section 14(1)
of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, in
respect of roads at Gedling, Burton Joyce, Mapperley,
Woodthorpe in the Borough of Gedling.
The effects of the Order will be:
1. Vehicles are prohibited from proceeding in the
following lengths of road as listed in paragraph 3.
2. Vehicles are prohibited from waiting, loading and
unloading (both sides, 08:00-15:30) in the following
lengths of road as listed in paragraph 3.

a. Yew Tree Lane, Gedling - for its whole length
b. Willow Close, Burton Joyce - for its whole length
c. Roseleigh Avenue, Mapperley - for its whole length
d. Shelford Road, Gedling - from its junction with Arnold
Lane to its junction with Wollaton Avenue
e. Beech Avenue, Woodthorpe - from its junction with
B684 Plains Road to its junction with Birklands Avenue
4. All existing permanent restrictions will be temporarily
suspended as required.
5. The restrictions specified above shall only be in effect
when the signs are in place.
IT IS INTENDED that the prohibitions respecting the above
road or roads will apply as follows:
a. Yew Tree Lane, Gedling - Monday 30th October 2023
b. Willow Close, Burton Joyce - Wednesday 1st - Friday
3rd November 2023
c. Roseleigh Avenue, Mapperley - Friday 3rd November
2023
d. Shelford Road, Gedling - Tuesday 7th - Thursday 9th
November 2023
e. Beech Avenue, Woodthorpe - Wednesday 15th
-Thursday 16th November 2023
(08:00 - 15:30 hours Monday - Friday)
AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during
the period of restriction the alternative routes available will
be:
a. Yew Tree Lane, Gedling - signed on site
b. Willow Close, Burton Joyce - signed on site
c. Roseleigh Avenue, Mapperley - Westdale Lane West -
Fernleigh Avenue and vice-versa
d. Shelford Road, Gedling - Wollaton Avenue - Besecar
Avenue - Arnold Lane and vice-versa
e. Beech Avenue, Woodthorpe - B684 Plains Road
- Breck Hill Road - Longacre - Shortcross Avenue and
vice-versa
The Order will come into force on 30th October 2023
and any prohibition in it shall apply on that day and any
subsequent day when necessary to enable works to be
carried out. The Order shall continue in force until the
works are completed (within a maximum period of 18
months).
The prohibition is required to enable Via East Midlands
on behalf of Nottinghamshire County Council to carry out
carriageway maintenance works.
