20MPH & 30MPH Speed Limit, Various Roads, Cononley, Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that The North Yorkshire Council proposes to make an Order under Sections 84(1) & (2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which will be to prohibit any motor vehicle from travelling at a speed in excess of 20 & 30 mph any length of road specified in Part 1 & Part 2: Part 1 - Proposed 20 mph Speed Limit Skipton Road, from a point opposite the boundary of Nos 38 & 40 Skipton Road, south to its junction with Main Street. Unclassified Road running between Nos 34 & 36 Skipton Road, in its entirety. Main Street, from its junction with Skipton Road, to a point 20 metres west of the centre line of the rail tracks at the level crossing. Crosshills Road, from its junction with Main Street, to a point 70 metres south of Windle Lane measured from the centre line of Windle Lane. Unclassified Road serving Nos 1-11 Main Street, in its entirety. Meadow Lane, in its entirety. Meadow Croft, in its entirety. Gordon Terrace, in its entirety. Sun Street, in its entirety. New Inn Fold, in its entirety. Meadow Close, in its entirety. Crag View, in its entirety. Windle Lane, in its entirety. St Johns Croft, in its entirety. Part 2 - Proposed 30 mph Speed Limit Skipton Road, from a point opposite the boundary of Nos 38 and 40 Skipton Road, north for a distance of 113 metres. Main Street, from a point 20 metres west of the centre line of the rail tracks at the level crossing, east to the level crossing. Cononley Lane, from the centre line of the rail tracks at the level crossing, east to a point 53 metres east of Airedale Ings measured from the centre line of Airedale Ings. Airedale Ings, in its entirety. Crosshills Road, from a point 70 metres south of its junction with Windle Lane, measured from the centre line of Windle Lane, south for a distance of 244 metres. Netherghyll Lane, from its junction with Main Street, west for a distance of 199 metres. A copy of the draft Order, together with a map showing the roads affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for proposing to make the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Skipton Library, High Street, Skipton BD23 1JX during normal office hours from 12/10/23 to 02/10/23 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map or www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. If you wish to object to the proposed Order, you should send the grounds for your objection, in writing addressed to Area 5 Skipton Highways Office, Snaygill Industrial Estate, Keighley Road, Skipton, North Yorkshire BD23 2QR or by email to Area5.Skipton@northyorks.gov.uk or via the website link above by 02/10/23.

School Streets, Seamer & Irton Community Primary School- Bell Close, Seamer, Scarborough, Prohibition of Driving, Experimental Order 2023

Notice is hereby given that on 29/09/23 The North Yorkshire Council made an Order under Sections 9 & 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 & Part IV of Schedule 9 to the 1984 Act, the effect of which is to prohibit motor vehicles from driving down both sides of Bell Close, Harrogate, from its junction with Denison Avenue for its entirety, during school term only from Monday to Friday 8.15am - 9.00am & 3.00pm - 3.45pm for an experimental period of 18 months. A copy of the Order, which comes into operation on 20/10/23, together with a map showing the road affected & a statement of the Council's reasons for making the Order may be inspected at County Hall, Northallerton & at Harrogate Library, Victoria Avenue, Harrogate HG1 1EG during normal office hours from 12/10/23 until 11 /04/24 & also viewed online at www.northyorks.gov.uk/roadworks-map & www.northyorks.gov.uk/traffic-regulation-orders. The Council will be considering, in due course, whether the provisions of the Order should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of 6 months from the coming into force of the Order, or if the Order is subsequently varied or modified, from the coming into operation of that variation or modification (whichever is the later), any person may object to the making of an Order for the purposes of such indefinite continuation. Any person wishing to object to the indefinite continuation of the Order must state the grounds for their objection, in writing, addressed to Area 6 Highways Office Stump Cross Boroughbridge YO51 9HU or by email to Area6.boroughbridge@northyorks.gov.uk by 19/04/24. If any person wishes to question the validity of the above Experimental Order or of any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act, or of any instrument made under it, has not been complied with in relation to the Order, they may, within 6 weeks of 29/09/23 make application to the High Court for that purpose.
