Tursdale, Temporary Footpath Closure Due To Cabin Renewal Works

What is happening?

The County Council of Durham (PROW Footpath No.5 Cassop-cum-Quarrington Parish, Tursdale) (Temporary Footpath Closure) Order 2023

The Council proposes to make an Order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, Section 14(1) to prohibit all pedestrian traffic from proceeding on a 125 metre length of PROW Footpath No.5 Cassop-cum-Quarrington Parish that extends southwards from its junction with PROW Footpath No.3 at Tursdale to enable track section cabin renewal works to be undertaken.

An alternative route will be available to pedestrian traffic via a provided route immediately to the east of the closed section.

The maximum duration of the Order is 6 months. The proposed works are to commence on 2/11/23 and are anticipated to be completed in 6 months. On occasions, alternative dates for closure may be necessary and these will be signed on site accordingly.
