Newcastle Great Park - Temporary Traffic Regulation for Danger to the Public Caused by the Development of the Playing Pitches
What is happening?
CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (NEWCASTLE GREAT PARK, BRIDLEWAY 1 HAZLERIGG AND FOOTPATH 1 HAZLERIGG) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION (NO. 2) ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 12 October 2023 the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all traffic (vehicles, pedestrians and other traffic) from proceeding on Newcastle Great Park, Bridleway 1 Hazlerigg and Footpath 1 Hazlerigg - from its junction with Sir Bobby Robson Way for its entire length.
2. The alternative route for traffic will be signed on site as required.
3. The Order is required because of the likelihood of danger to the public caused by the development of the playing pitches at Newcastle Great Park in line with obligations set out in the NGP Cell A S106 condition requirements. The prohibition of traffic is required to ensure the safety of the public in connection with the bridleway/footpath referred to in paragraph 1 above.
4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles and persons engaged in the works.
5. The Order will come into operation on 20 October 2023 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 6 months or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
