What is happening?
NOTICE OF MAKING
ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984
LANCASHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(BARTLE LANE, COTTAM LINK ROAD, EAST WEST LINK ROAD, EDITH RIGBY WAY AND SANDY LANE, PRESTON, PRESTON CITY, AND LEA LANE SOUTH AND LEA LANE NORTH, NEWTON WITH CLIFTON, FYLDE BOROUGH) (30MPH, 40MPH AND 50MPH SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on 11 October 2023 Lancashire County Council made the above Speed Limit Order under Section 84 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended, the effect of which will be to:
1. Introduce a 30mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) Bartle Lane, Woodplumpton, for its entire length;
b) Lea Lane South, Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 406 metres in a south westerly direction;
c) Lea Lane North, Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 556 metres in a northerly direction;
d) Sandy Lane, Preston, from its junction with East West Link Road to a point 92 metres north of its junction with the centreline of Bartle Lane.
2. Introduce a 40 mph speed limit on the following lengths of road:
a) East West Link Road (B5467), Woodplumpton, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way to a point 285 metres south west of its junction with Sandy Lane;
b) Cottam Link Road (B5468), Preston, from its junction with Edith Rigby Way for a distance of 270 metres in an easterly direction.
3. Introduce a 50mph speed limit on Edith Rigby Way, for its entire length.
This Order will come into force on the 16 October 2023. A copy of the Order, and all other relevant documents may be inspected during normal office hours at the offices of Fylde Borough Council, Town Hall, Lytham St Annes, FY8 1LW, and at the offices of Preston City Council, PO Box 10, Town Hall, Lancaster Road, Preston, PR1 2RL, and at the offices of The Director of Law and Governance, Lancashire County Council, County Hall, Fishergate, Preston PR1 8XJ, and on Lancashire County Councils Website http://www.lancashire.gov.uk/roads-parking-and-travel/roads/roadworks-and-traffic-regulation-orders/permanent.aspx, quoting ref: LSG4/894. 15831/AFR.
