Sidcup By Pass, Temporary 40mph Speed Limit

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

THE A20 GLA ROAD (SIDCUP BY-PASS, LONDON BOROUGHS OF BEXLEY AND BROMLEY) (TEMPORARY 40 M.P.H. SPEED LIMIT) ORDER 2023

1. Transport for London hereby gives notice that it has made the above named Traffic Order under section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 for the purpose specified in paragraph 2. The effect of the Order is summarised in paragraph 3.

2. The purpose of the Order is because of the likelihood of danger to the public or of serious damage to the road due to persistent flooding of the carriageway.

3. The effect of the Order will be to prohibit any vehicle to exceed a speed of 40 M.P.H. on the:

(1) A20 SIDCUP BY-PASS, south-eastbound carriageway between a point 1545 metres north-west of the north-western kerb-line of A222 Chislehurst Road and to a point 15m north-west of the administrative boundary of the London Borough of Bromley and Kent County Council;

(2) A20 SIDCUP BY-PASS OFF-SLIP ROAD from its junction with the south-eastbound carriageway of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass to a point 20 metres north -west of its junction with the circulatory traffic system at the junctions of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass, A222 Perry Street and Chislehurst Road, hereafter referred to as Frognal Corner Roundabout;

(3) A20 SIDCUP BY-PASS ON-SLIP ROAD from a point 18 metres south-east its junction with Froganal Corner Roundabout to

its junction with the south-eastbound carriageway of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass;

(4) A20 SIDCUP BY-PASS OFF-SLIP ROAD from its junction with the south-eastbound carriageway of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass to a point 25 metres south-west of its junction with the gyratory system at the junctions of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass, A223 Edgington Way, A224 Cray Road and Sevenoaks Road commonly known as Crittall's Corner;

(5) A20 SIDCUP BY-PASS ON-SLIP ROAD from a point 32 metres southeast of its junction with the gyratory system at the junctions of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass, A223 Edgington Way, A224 Cray Road and Sevenoaks Road commonly known as Crittall's Corner and its junction with the south-eastbound carriageway of the A20 Sidcup By-Pass.

The Order will be effective at certain times from 12:01 AM on the 18th October 2023 until 11:59 PM on the 26th March 2025 or when permanent measures have been introduced completed to eliminate the flooding whichever is the sooner. The prohibitions will apply only during such times and to such extent as shall from time to time be indicated by traffic signs. Dated this 11th day of October 2023
