(VARIOUS ROADS, GRAVESHAM) (WAITING RESTRICTIONS AND STREET PARKING PLACES)
(CONSOLIDATION) (AMENDMENT NO.12) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is hereby given that the Kent County Council hereby make an Order under Sections 1, 2, 32, 35, 36, 45, 46, 47, 49, 53, 124 and Part IV of Schedule 9 to the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Traffic Management Act 2004, the Civil Enforcement of Parking Contraventions (England) General Regulations 2007 and of all other enabling powers and after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act.
Athboy Road, Gravesend – on the northern side, from the junction with Stone Street to meet the existing drop off bay outside the Gravesend Station, on the southern side from the junction with Stone Street to the taxi bay (with the exception of the existing loading bay) and on the western side of the build out, introduce ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No loading at any time’ restrictions.
Church Street, Gravesend – On the eastern side, remove the existing bus stop and replace with ‘Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6.30pm 30mins No Return Within 1hr’ bay restriction at a length of 35m. On the southern side, remove the existing bus stop and replace with two ‘Limited Waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6.30pm 30mins No Return Within 1hr’ bay restrictions, one at a length of 22m and the other at a length of 12m, separated by 5m of ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction across the access to the church hall.
Clive Road, Gravesend – on the northern side, introduce ‘No loading at any time’ restriction for its entire length. On the southern side, introduce ‘No loading at any time’ restriction from the junction of Stone Street for a length of 45m.
Parrock Street, Gravesend – introduce ‘Electric Vehicle Recharging Point Only 1hr No Return Within 2hrs’ and ‘Electric Taxi Recharging Point Only 1hr No Return Within 2hrs’ restrictions at a length of 5.9m each outside 190-192 Parrock Street, replacing the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction.
Princes Street, Gravesend – On both sides, remove all existing ‘No loading Mon-Sat 7.30am-9:30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ and ‘No loading Mon-Sat 10.30am-4.30pm’ restrictions. On both sides, introduce ‘No loading at any time’ restrictions alongside existing ‘No waiting at any time’ restrictions.
Stone Street, Gravesend – introduce ‘Solo motor cycles parking place’ restriction for a length of 12m from the northern boundary of 6 Stone Street, replacing part of the existing ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No loading Mon-Sat 10.30am-4.30pm’ restriction. Remove ‘No stopping except Taxis’ restriction and replace with ‘Disabled badge holders only’ restriction for 12m from the southern boundary of 14 Stone Street. On both sides between New Road/King Street and Railway Place, replace existing ‘No loading Mon-Sat 10.30am-4.30pm’ restriction with ‘No loading at any time’ restriction.
West Street, Gravesend – at the junction with Church Street, extend existing ‘No waiting at any time’ and ‘No loading Mon-Sat 7.30am-9:30am and 4.30pm-6.30pm’ restrictions round to meet the above proposed Limited Waiting bay restriction. Between the junctions of Bath Street and Stuart Road, on the northern side, replace existing ‘No waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6.30pm’ restriction with ‘No waiting at any time’ restriction.
Windmill Street, Gravesend – remove existing bus stop outside Tivoli Gardens and replace with ‘Permit Holders Only (C)/Limited Waiting 8am-6.30pm 1hr No Return Within 2hrs’ bay restriction.
The Order was made on 12 October 2023 and its provisions will come into effect on 19 October 2023.
A copy of the Order, together with the statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Orders, a map indicating the location and a copy of any other Orders which will be amended by this Order may be viewed online at https://www.gravesham.gov.uk/parking-consultations or in the Civic Centre, Windmill Street, Gravesend, Kent, DA12 1AU during normal office hours.
Anyone may, by application to the High Court within 6 weeks of the date of publication of this Notice, challenge the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, or any instrument made thereunder, or that there has been a failure to comply with any statutory requirement in relation to the Orders.
