ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order

Abingdon, Evelin Road Prohibition of Through Traffic Date of Order: 30/10/2023 Coming into force: 06/11/2023

This Order is being introduced because of gas mains replacement work which is anticipated to be completed 17 November 2023.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding in Evelin Road near its junction with Wootton Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via Wildmoor Gate, Berry Croft, Thornhill Walk, Trendell Place, and Wootton Road and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T12608/AC)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Sutton Courtenay, B4016 Drayton Road Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting Date of Order: 09/10/2023 Coming into force: 23/10/2023

This Order is being introduced because of traffic calming works which are anticipated to be completed on 13 November 2023.

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the section of the B4016 Drayton Road outside property No.9. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the B4017 Drayton Road, Ock Street Abingdon, A415 Abingdon Road and Tollgate Road and vice versa.

This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T12426/RAG)

Notice of Temporary Traffic Order Waterstock, Tiddington & Great Haseley, A418 Thame Road Prohibition of Through Traffic and Waiting Date of Order: 23/10/2023 Coming into force: 26/10/2023

This Order is being introduced because of carriageway patching works which are anticipated to take until 17 November to complete working over-night 20:00hrs to 06:00hrs (weekdays only).

The effect of the Order is to temporarily prohibit any vehicle proceeding or waiting in the parts of the A418 Thame Road. Appropriate traffic signs will be displayed to indicate when the measures are in force. Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works and for access to premises which are only accessible from the closed section of road. The alternative route for traffic is via the A40 & A329 and vice versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of

18 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: 12619/MR)

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 - SECTION 14(1) & (2)

Notice of Temporary Footpath Closure Henley, Meadow Road Footbridge (Henley Footpath from outside River & Rowing Museum for 370m) Date of Order: 09/10/2023 Coming into force: 17/10/2023

This order continues in force a footpath closure by emergency notice on 27 September 2023 for public safety reasons because of urgent repairs to a collapsed footbridge. The works are anticipated to be completed 5 January 2024.

The effect of the Order is to close temporarily that part of Henley Footpath from outside the River & Rowing Museum for 370 meters.

Exemptions are included for emergency services and for the works. The diversion is via Meadow Road - Footpath by River Thames - Mill Lane and vice-versa. This Order will remain in force for a maximum period of 6 months or until the works have been completed whichever is the sooner. (Ref: T12803(EM)/MR)

The order, which comes into force on 16 October introduces a 20mph speed limit throughout the St Helen Without parish (west of Abingdon Town), including the built-up areas of Dry Sandford, Cothill, and Shippon replacing the majority of the 30mph speed limits in the process.

A. Dry Sandford & Cothill - on the following roads:

1. Besselsleigh Road - from the parish boundary, northwestwards to a point 25 metres southeast of its junction with Lashford Lane,

2. Blackhorse Lane - to a point 40 metres south of its junction with Cothill Road,

3. Church Lane - for its entire length,

4. Cothill Road - from its junction with Lashford Lane/ Honeybottom Lane, south-westwards to a point 105 metres southwest of its junction with Blackhorse Lane,

5. Honeybottom Lane - to a point 50 metres northeast of its junction with Lashford Lane/Cothill Road,

6. Lashford Lane - for its entire length,

7. Sandleigh Road - for its entire length.

B. Shippon - the whole length of every road in Shippon leading out to the village following points:

1. Barrow Road - 390 metres southwest of Elm Tree Walk,

2. Faringdon Road - to its junction with Barrow Road. Various lengths of 30mph & 40mph speed limits outside of the main residential areas will be retained on Besselsleigh Road, Cholswell Road, Long Tow, the B4017 Wootton Road, Barrow Road, Honeybottom Lane, and the unnamed Frilford - Abingdon Road through Gozzards Ford, with Officers having taken into account the current road environment & traffic usage.

The Oxfordshire County Council (St Helen Without Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2021 is revoked/replaced. NOTICE is given that on 9 October 2023 Oxfordshire County Council made the above orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. The effect of the orders, which come into force on 16 October is to lower speed limits in the Abingdon area as follows.

A. 20mph speed limit throughout Abingdon town, replacing the majority* of the 30mph speed limits within the main residential roads i.e. those bounded by the 'ring road', and those south of the river Ock in their entirety, leading out of the town to various points on:

1. A415 Abingdon Road,

2. B4017 Drayton Road,

3. Marcham Road

4. Faringdon Road

5. B4017 Wootton Road

6. A4183 Oxford Road, and

7. Radley Road.

B. Reduction of the existing 40mph speed limits to 30mph on the 'ring road' as follows:

1. Audlett Drive - between Radley Road & a point 60 metres east of its junction with Curtis Avenue,

2. Twelve Acre Drive - between its roundabout junctions with Dunmore Road & Audlett Drive

3. Dunmore Road - between its roundabout junctions with Copenhagen Drive & Twelve Acre Drive,

4. Copenhagen Drive - between its roundabout junctions with Colwell Drive & Dunmore Road

5. Colwell Drive - between its roundabout junctions with Copenhagen Drive & the A415 Marcham Road.

*Sections of existing 30mph speed limit on the A415 Marcham Road, Colwell Drive, Nuffield Way, A4183 Oxford Road, Radley Road, B4017 Drayton Road & B4017 Wootton Road will be retained, along with the existing 40mph speed limit on the B4017 Drayton Road (in the parishes of Abingdon and Drayton). All of which having taken the current road environment & traffic usage into account. The Oxfordshire County Council (Abingdon) (Speed Limit) Order 2021, the Oxfordshire County Council (Culham Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2019, and the Oxfordshire County Council (St Helen Without Parish) (Speed Limits) Order 2021 are revoked/replaced.
