What is happening?
THE BOROUGH COUNCIL OF GATESHEAD HIGHWAYS ACT 1980 SECTION 90C (CROSS LANE, DUNSTON) PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF ROAD HUMPS
NOTICE is hereby given that the Borough Council of Gateshead in exercise of its powers under Section 90A of the Highways Act 1980 and after consultation and in accordance with Section 90C of the Highways Act 1980 proposes to construct road humps complying with the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999 as a traffic calming measure in order to regulate vehicle speed and to also assist with the movement of pedestrians and cyclists in the immediate vicinity. The proposal consists of the introduction of two raised flat top tables - Street End Treatments with a height of 75mm and a width of the full carriageway (variable lengths) at:-
a. Cross Lane - from the junction with the A1114 Handy Drive in a southerly direction for a distance of 7.5 metres;
b. Unnamed Access Road to Northern Powergrid Substation - from the junction with the A1114 Handy Drive in a northerly direction for a distance of 10 metres.
All details of the proposals are shown on a plan which may be inspected online at http://www.gateshead.gov.uk/trafficschemes or alternatively can be viewed at the information desk on the ground floor reception at Civic Centre, Regent Street, Gateshead, NE8 1HH, Monday to Thursday between 8.45am and 5.00pm and Friday between 8.45am and 4.30pm.
