ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984: SECTION 14 TEMPORARY CLOSURE. CLOSURE OF SUBWAY, SUSPENSION OF DOUBLE YELLOW LINES, PROHIBITION OF WAITING. SUSPENSION OF OVERNIGHT 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION AND SUSPENSION OF 7.5 TONNE WEIGHT RESTRICTION ON PART OF VARIOUS ROADS, IPSWICH, AND VARIOUS PARISHES

Suffolk County Council Intends to make an order closing the following lengths of road on the dates and times set out at the end of this notice:

* A140 Norwich Road, Coddenham from the A14 roundabout to Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary

* A140 Norwich Road, Creeting St Mary

* A140 Norwich Road, Earl Stonham

* A140 Angel Hill, Earl Stonham

* A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Aspal

* A140 Pains Hill, Stonham Parva

* A140 Turnpike, Stonham Parva

* A140 Norwich Road, Stonham Parva

* A140 Norwich Road, Mendlesham

* A140 Norwich Road, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford

* A140 The Street, Wetheringsett Cum Brockford

* A140 Norwich Road, Thwaite

* A140 Norwich Road, Stoke Ash

* A140 Ipswich Road, Stoke Ash

* U4736 Old Norwich Road Bus Lane, Whitton from 120 metres south of Hill View Business Park entrance for

540 metres southbound. This is to facilitate the safe transportation of abnormal loads between Ipswich Docks and Castleton Way, Yaxley on those dates. Access will be open for pedestrians and cyclists. From 22/10/2023 to 03/12/2023 the A1156 St Matthew Street Subway entrance, Ipswich from the west side of St Matthews Street to Civic Dnve Roundabout will be closed to facilitate the erection of scaffolding and boarding for pedestrian safety when guard rails are removed to enable abnormal load movements. Other co-ordinated activities may also take place during this period.

The diversion routes will be:

* for the A140 - the A140, the A143, the A14 and vice versa

* for Tomline Road, Ipswich - Foxhall Road, Derby Road, and vice versa

* no diversion route is required for Old Norwich Road, Whitton as buses are not affected

* for the Subway Closure - St Matthews Street, Civic Drive and no vice versa.

For the duration of the road closures, there will be a suspension of double yellow lines, a prohibition of waiting, a suspension of an overnight 7.5 tonne weight restriction and a suspension of a 7.5 tonne weight restriction. Suspension of double yellow lines:

It is intended that the road closure, suspension of double yellow lines, prohibition of waiting, suspension of overnight 7.5 tonne weight restriction and suspension of 7.5 tonne weight restriction will operate on the following dates: 22/10/2023. 29/10/2023, 05/11C023, 19/11/2023, 26/T1/2023 and 03/12/2623, with the exception of U4736 Old Norwich Road, Whitton which will be closed from 6pm on 21/10/2023 - 11.59pm on 22/10/2023, 6pm on 28/10/2023 - 11.59pm on 29/10/2023, 6pm on 04/11/2023 -11.59pm on 05/11/2023, 6pm on 18/11/2023 - 11.59pm on 19/11/2023, 6pm on 25/11/2023 - 11.59pm on 26/11/2023 and 6pm on 02/12/2023 - 11.59pm on 03/12/2023.
