Cheapside - Road Traffic Regulation to Revoke the Existing 40mph Speed Limit
What is happening?
The North East Lincolnshire Borough Council
(Cheapside, Waltham) (Speed Limit) (No 19-08) Order 2023
Notice is hereby given that on 11th October 2023 North East Lincolnshire Borough Council made the above Traffic Regulation Order under powers contained in the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to: -
1. To revoke the existing 40mph speed limit on Cheapside.
2. Introduce a 40mph speed limit from a point 57 metres south-east of the south- eastern kerb line of Golf Course Lane to a point 732 metres south-east of the south- eastern kerb line of Golf Course Lane.
The Order will come into force on the 20th October 2023.
A copy of the proposed Traffic Regulation Order giving more detailed information including all Schedules, Plans and the Council’s Statement of Reasons for introducing the Order are available via North East Lincolnshire Council’s Website by searching ‘Advertised Traffic Regulation Orders’. The full website address is: https://www.nelincs.gov.uk/roads-parking-transport/traffic-and-road- safety/traffic-regulation-orders/ Paper copies can also be viewed on request at the Municipal Offices, Town Hall Square, Grimsby, during normal office hours.
If any person wishes to challenge the validity of the Order, or any provision contained in it, on the grounds that it is not within the powers conferred by the Act, or that any requirement of the Act or any instrument made under it has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Order was made, apply for the purpose to the High Court.
