What is happening?
HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:
(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF VARIOUS FOOTWAYS AND FOOTPATH IN WARE) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using the following lengths of footways (“the Footways”) and footpath (“the Footpath”):-
1. the footway fronting No.26 and No.28 Hampden Hill, Ware from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.32 Hampden Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m.
An alternative route will be via the footpath situated between No.25 No.27 Cromwell Road, the footway on the north side of Cromwell Road and the footway situated on the east, south and west sides of Hampden Hill.
2. the footway fronting No.33 Hampden Hill, Ware from a point in line with the northern boundary of No.37 Hampden Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 11m.
An alternative route will be via the footpath situated between No.25 No.27 Cromwell Road, the footway on the north side of Cromwell Road and the footway situated on the east, south, west and east sides of Hampden Hill.
3. the footpath situated between No.25 and No.27 Cromwell Road, Ware from its junction with Hampden Hill north westwards for a distance of approximately 20m.
An alternative route will be via the footway situated on the east, south and west sides of Hampden Hill, the footway situated on the north side of Cromwell Road and the footpath situated between No.25 No.27 Cromwell Road.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Footways and Footpaths.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 30 October 2023 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Footways and Footpaths.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BURY LANE, DATCHWORTH) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Bury Lane, Datchworth from its junction with Brookbridge Lane north westwards for a distance of approximately 46m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Hawkins Hall Lane, Watton Road, Datchworth Green, Mardleybury Road, B197 London Road, Watton Road, Hertford Road, A602 Broadhall Way, Bragbury Lane and Bury Lane.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 1 November 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF WHEMPSTEAD ROAD, WHEMPSTEAD) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Whempstead Road, Whempstead from its junction with A602 Tonwell Bypass north westwards, north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 2041m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via A602 Ware Road, A602 Watton at Stone Bypass, High Street, Walkern Road, Church Green, Town Lane and Whempstead Road.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 31 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN RUSSELLS RIDE, CHESHUNT) ORDER 2023
NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Russells Ride, Cheshunt from its junction with Windmill Lane south westwards, south eastwards, southwards and westwards to its junction with B176 Crossbrook Street, a distance of approximately 1170m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via Windmill Lane and B176 (Turners Hill/Crossbrook Street).
ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.
If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 30 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Well Row, Bayford from a point 24m west of its junction with the access road leading to ‘The Church Cottages’ south eastwards for a distance of approximately 20m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Well Row.
The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Sacombe Pound, Sacombe from its junction with Sacombe Green Road south westwards for a distance of approximately 100m (“the Road”).
An alternative route will be via Sacombe Pound, Munden Road, C16 Great Munden, Mentley Lane, C14 (unnamed road), Moor Green Road, C14 (unnamed road), B1037 (White Hill/High Street), High Street, Benington Road, Walkern Road, Church Green, Town Lane, Whempstead Road, A602 Tonwell Bypass and Sacombe Pound.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Anchor Lane, Wadesmill from its junction with the B158 Wadesmill Road/A602 Tonwell Bypass roundabout north eastwards for a distance of approximately 1665m (“the Road”), except for access.
An alternative route will be via A602 Westmill Road, A10 (unnamed road), Cambridge Road and Anchor Lane or via Anchor Lane, Cambridge Road, A1170 Wadesmill Road, A10 (unnamed road) and A602 Westmill Road.

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads (“the Roads”), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-
1. that length of High Street, Walkern from its junction with Benington Road north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with B1037 Stevenage Road, a distance of approximately 586m.
An alternative route will be via Benington Road, Walkern Road, Benington Road, Broadwater Lane, Aston Lane, A602 (Broadhall Way/Monkswood Way), A1155 (St Georges Way/Fairlands Way) and B1037 (Fairlands Way/Stevenage Road).
2. that length of Churchfield Road, Tewin from its junction with B1000 Hertford Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with School Lane, a distance of approximately 819m.
An alternative route will be via B1000 Hertford Road, Hertford Road, Harmer Green Lane, New Road, Harmer Green Lane, Orchard Road, Upper Green, Upper Green Road, Lower Green and School Lane.
3. that length of White Stubbs Lane, Bayford from its junction with Ashendene Road north eastwards and south eastwards to its junction with Pembridge Lane, a distance of approximately 2832m.
An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, C54 (unnamed road), Newgate Street Village, Newgate Street, Darnicle Hill, Hammondstreet Road, Dig Dag Hill, Longfield Lane, Flamstead End Road, B156 (Brookfield Lane West/ Halfhide Lane), A10 Great Cambridge Road, A1170 High Road, Bell Lane, Baas Hill and White Stubbs Lane.
4. that length of Blind Lane, Ardeley from its junction with B1037 (unnamed road) south westwards to its junction with Mill Lane, a distance of approximately 573m.
An alternative route will be via B1037 (unnamed road) and Mill Lane.
5. that length of Ashendene Road, Bayford from its junction with White Stubbs Lane north eastwards to its junction with Bayford Road, a distance of approximately 1084m.
An alternative route will be via White Stubbs Lane, Pembridge Lane, Brickendon Green and Bayford Road.
6. that length of Stockings Lane, Little Berkhamsted from its junction with Robins Nest Hill north eastwards for a distance of approximately 453m.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
7. that length of C161 (unnamed road), High Wych from its northernmost junction with Pye Corner south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.
There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.
8. that length of Chapel Lane, Little Hadham from its junction with New Road south eastwards to its junction with The Ford, a distance of approximately 467m.
An alternative route will be via New Road and The Ford.
The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.
The Order has been made and shall come into force on 16 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.
