THE SURREY COUNTY COUNCIL
Beckingham Road (D4002) Guildford Temporary Prohibition Traffic Order 2023

Surrey County Council propose to make the above mentioned Temporary Traffic Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which will be to prohibit vehicles, equestrians and cyclists from entering or proceeding in that length of Beckingham Road (D4002) Guildford which extends from its junction with A323 Aldershot Road to its junction with Grantley Road. This Order is required to enable UKPN to carry out utility works, which is anticipated to be completed within 5 days, between 8am and 11.59pm, during the 12 month period of operation of this Order which will commence on 30 October 2023. Advanced warning signs will be displayed and the temporary closure, which is anticipated to be in force 24 hours per day, will only operate when the relevant traffic signs are displayed. Access for pedestrians will be maintained at all times. Due to the nature of the works, it will not be possible to maintain access for emergency service vehicles, equestrians, cyclists, residents and businesses. The Council are satisfied that, in accordance with Section 3(2) (a) and 3(2)(b) of the Act, vehicular access to and from premises within the length of road above or accessible only therefrom may be restricted in order to avoid danger to persons or other traffic using the road and/or for preventing the likelihood of any such danger arising. Alternative Route – Aldershot Road, Parkhurst Road, Weston Road/Grantley Road and Beckingham Road.
