What is happening?

Trodds Lane (D4009) Guildford (30 mph and 40 mph Speed Limit) Order 2023

On 10 October 2023 Surrey County Council made the above-named Order under Section 84 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (as amended) and of all other enabling powers the effect of which will be to: – (a) extend the 30 miles per hour maximum speed limit in that length of Trodds Lane (D4009) Guildford as extends from a point in line with Street Lighting Column N15 to the existing 30mph/National Speed Limit Terminal point 25 metres southeast of its junction with the centre line of the access to No.37 Trodds Lane also known as “Newlands Cottage”; and (b) impose a 40 miles per hour maximum speed limit in that length of Trodds Lane (D4009) Guildford as extends from a point 25 metres southeast of its junction with the centre line of the access to No.37 Trodds Lane also known as “Newlands Cottage” to the existing 40mph terminal point 35 metres northwest of its junction with (A25) Shere Road.
The speed limits proposed by the above-mentioned Order shall not apply to vehicles used by special forces in accordance with the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.
A copy of the made Order, which will come into operation on 17 October 2023, together with the plan showing the length of road to which this Order relates and a Statement of the Council’s reasons for making the Order may be inspected free of charge at (i) Reception, Surrey County Council, Hazel House, Merrow Lane, Guildford, Surrey, GU4 7BQ, between 10am and 4pm; (ii) Guildford Library, 77 North Street, Guildford, GU1 4AL during normal opening hours; and (iii) by prior arrangement and appointment only at Guildford Borough Council’s Parking Office situated at Beford Road Multi Storey Car Park (Level 2), Laundry Road, Guildford (Telephone No. (01483) 505050 or email: parking@guildford.gov.uk) during normal office hours.
