Various Roads, Ealing - Temporary Road Restrictions For Playstreet Scheme
What is happening?
LONDON BOROUGH OF EALING
PLAY STREET ORDER FOR PLAYSTREET SCHEMES IN CHATSWORTH GARDENS, W3, CONISTON AVENUE PERIVALE, CUMBERLAND ROAD W7 AND HESSEL ROAD, W13.
THE EALING (VARIOUS ROADS PLAYSTREET SCHEME)
(NO. 4, 2016) (AMENDMENT NO. 15) TRAFFIC ORDER 2023
1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Ealing (“the Council”) on the 10th October 2023 made the above-mentioned Order under sections 6 and 29 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, as amended.
2. The general effect of the Order will be to create play streets in:
(a) Chatsworth Gardens W3, between the southern kerb-line of Buxton Gardens and the northern kerb-line of Barlow Road.
(b) Coniston Avenue Perivale all of the road (between Rydal Crescent and Thirlmere Avenue).
(c) Cumberland Road, W7, between the north-eastern kerb-line of Manston Avenue (No.22 Cumberland Road) and No.120 Cumberland Road.
(d) Hessel Road, W13, between the south-western kerb-line of Northcroft Road and the northeastern kerb-line of Marder Road. which would operate when traffic signs are in position closing these roads between these points.
The scheme called “Playstreet” will close these roads to vehicular traffic on one Saturday or Sunday each month (or such other occasions as the Council may approve) for a period of up to 3 hours to enable children to use them for play schemes. Vehicles will be able to access premises in the closed sections of street and would be escorted by a steward to reach their destination.
3. The Order, which will come into operation on 12th October 2023, other documents including plans giving more detailed particulars of the Order are available by either e-mailing trafficnotices@ealing.gov.uk or inspection at Customer Services Reception, Perceval House, 14-16 Uxbridge Road W5 2HL between 9:00am and 4:45pm on Monday to Friday, until the 21st November 2023.
4. Any person desiring to question the validity of the Order or of any provision contained therein on the grounds that it is not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any relevant requirements thereof or any relevant regulations made thereunder has not been complied with in relation to the Order may make application for the purpose to the High Court by the 21st November 2023.
