What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

TONBRIDGE & MALLING AREA

BUSH ROAD, EAST PECKHAM TN12 5LR (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow overhead network works to be carried out Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Bush Road, Tonbridge, on or after 1st November 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.
The road will be closed between the junctions with Bullen Lane and Church Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Bush Road, Pound Road, Chidley Cross Road, Hatches Lane, Bullen Lane, Bush Road and vice versa.

CASTLE STREET & BANK STREET, TONBRIDGE. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow repair works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Castle Street & Bank Street, Tonbridge, on or after 21st October 2023, with estimated completion by 2nd December 2023, or until the works have been completed.

Extended working hours and weekend working will take place:-
Monday to Friday – 07:00 hours to 19:00 hours
Saturday – 08:00 hours to 18:00 hours
Sunday – 09:00 hours to 17:00 hours

Castle Street will be closed from the junction with High Street to the junction with Bank Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
Bank Street will be closed from the junction with Castle Street to the junction with High Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
These works are in conjunction with multi-way traffic lights on High Street which will be manually controlled between the hours of 07.00 and 19.00.
The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Slade, Annison Street, Lansdowne Road, High Street and vice versa.
Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

CEMETERY LANE, HADLOW. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Cemetery Lane, Hadlow, on or after 16th October 2023, for up to one day, between the hours of 09.30 and 15.30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Court Lane to the juncton with A26 Hadlow Road, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
The alternative route is via Cemetery Lane, A26 Hadlow Road, Court Lane and vice versa.

CROUCH LANE, PLATT TN15 8LX (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow vegetation works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Crouch Lane, Platt, on or after 31st October 2023 for up to 1 day between the hours of 09:00 and 15:30, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Long Mill Lane to outside number 2, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Crouch Lane, Maidstone Road, Grange Road, Long Mill Lane and vice versa.

GORHAM CLOSE, SNODLAND ME6 5RD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023
To allow maintenance works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Gorham Close, Snodland, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 5 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed for its entire length, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, due to the road being a dead-end. However, residential access will be maintained at all times, when it is safe to do so.

HARTLAKE ROAD, GOLDEN GREEN TN11 0LP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow gas main replacement works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Hartlake Road, Golden Green, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 26 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Three Elm Lane to the vicinity of Goldenhill House, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Three Elm Lane, A26 Hadlow Road East, A26 Cornwallis Road, A26 Hadlow Road, A26 Cannon Lane, A26 Vale Road, A26 Woodgate Way, B2017 Tudeley Road, Hartlake Road and vice versa.

HIGH STREET, SNODLAND. ME6 5AP (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow level crossing inspection works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, Snodland, on or after 21st October 2023, for up to 2 days, between the hours of 23.30 and 04.00, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of the level crossing, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, however, residential access will be maintained at all times when it is safe to do so.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

HIGH STREET, WEST MALLING (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow the West Malling Farmers Market to be held, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of High Street, West Malling.

High Street will be closed between the junctions with Swan Street and Water Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site. The road will be closed between the hours of 06:00 and 15:00 only, on the dates listed below.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via St Leonard’s Street, King Hill, A228 Ashton Way, A20 London Road and Town Hill.

KILN BARN ROAD, DITTON. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow installation works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Kiln Barn Road, Ditton, on or after 21st October 2023, for up to 9 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the site entrance to Ragstone Court, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Kiln Barn Road, Easterfields, Sweets Lane, Wateringbury Road, Chapel Street, High Street, New Road, A20 London Road, New Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

LOWER HAYSDEN LANE, TONBRIDGE. TN9 2QF (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow Section 278 works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Lower Haysden Lane, Tonbridge, on or after 16th October 2023, with estimated completion by 14th February 2024, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from the junction with Upper Haysden Lane, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Lower Haysden Lane, Upper Haysden Lane and vice versa.

NEW WHARF ROAD, TONBRIDGE TN9 1SD (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow sewer connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of New Wharf Road, Tonbridge, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 12 days or until the works have been completed.

New Wharf Road will be closed between the junctions with B2260 High Street and Bradford Street, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.
In addition to the closure, it will be necessary to temporarily suspend the one-way Order on Bradford Street, to allow for diverted traffic.

The alternative route is via BB260 High Street, Bradford Street and vice versa.

RECTORY LANE SOUTH, LEYBOURNE ME19 5QQ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER NOVEMBER 2023
To allow gas connection works to be carried out, Kent County Council intends to make an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rectory Lane South, Leybourne, on or after 30th October 2023 for up to 8 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the general vicinity of number 8, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route for this closure, due to the road being a dead-end. However, residential access will be maintained at all times, when it is safe to do so.

ROCHESTER ROAD, BURHAM. (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER OCTOBER 2023
To allow utility works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order prohibiting through traffic on part of Rochester Road, Burham, on or after 21st October 2023, for up to 3 days, or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed in the vicinity of Kooland, to the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route is via Pilgrims Way, Rochester Road, Forstal Road, Station Road, A20 London Road, A228 Ashton Way, A228 Castle Way, A228 Snodland Bypass, A228 Holborough Road, Peters Bridge, Village Road, New Court Road, Rochester Road and vice versa.
