Folkestone and Hythe, Multiple Temporary Traffic Regulation Notices

What is happening?

Highways

Kent County Council, acting in exercise of its powers under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, makes or intends to make the following Orders.

FOLKESTONE & HYTHE AREA

Eastbridge Road, Dymchurch TN29 0PE (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Eastbridge Road, Dymchurch, on or after 16th October 2023 for up to 19 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Orgarswick Avenue and Mill Road. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Mill Road, A259 High Street, Orgarswick Avenue and vice versa.

 

Sandling Road, Saltwood CT21 4QH (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow gas works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandling Road, Saltwood, on or after 21st October 2023 for up to 9 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed from Brockhill Park Performing Arts College to Freshfield Lane. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via The Green, Brockhill Road, Bartholomew Lane, North Road, Barrack Hill, A261 London Road, A261 Hythe Road, A20 Ashford Road, B2068 Stanford Intersection, A20 Ashford Road and vice versa.

Pedestrian access will be maintained during the works.

 

Sandy Lane, Saltwood (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow fibre works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Sandy Lane, Saltwood, on or after 17th October 2023 for up to 6 hours or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed outside Grange Farm, between the hours of 09:30 and 15:30 only. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

There is no alternative route. Every effort will be made to maintain access for residents whenever it is safe to do so.

 

Standard Hill Top, Elham CT4 6NJ (PROHIBITION OF DRIVING) TEMPORARY ORDER 2023

To allow drainage works to be carried out, Kent County Council has made an Order to temporarily prohibit through traffic on part of Standard Hill Top, Elham, on or after 16th October 2023 for up to 2 days or until the works have been completed.

The road will be closed between the junctions of Green Lane and North Elham Hill. To the extent indicated by signs and barriers on site.

The alternative route for any through traffic is via Green Lane, North Elham Hill and vice versa.

(AMENDMENT NO.17A)
ORDER 2023

Notice is hereby given that KENT COUNTY COUNCIL has made the above Order under sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 45, 46, 49, 53 and 122 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, and of all other enabling powers, and after consultation with the chief officer of police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act:

The Order will be effective from Monday 16 th October 2023, and will extend the Folkestone West Controlled Parking Zone to include Turketel Road.

Between 9am and 11am Mondays - Fridays (excluding bank and public holidays), parking will be restricted to Permit Holders only.

Permits will be available to local residents and to any business or organisation with vehicle(s) essential to its operation.

Waiting will be prohibited at all times in any part of the road mentioned above where parking is not allowed.

Full details are contained in the Order which, together with the relevant drawings, a copy of any orders which will be amended by this Order, and a statement of the Council’s reasons for making this Order may be examined at The Council Offices, Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone.

Any person wishing to question the validity of the Notice or of any of its provisions on the ground that it is not within the powers of the relevant enabling Act or that a requirement of any such enabling Act or of any relevant regulations made there under has not been complied with may, within 6 weeks from the date on which the Notice was published, make application for the purpose to the High Court.

(AMENDMENT No.18)

ORDER 2023

ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984

The Kent County Council, acting as the Local Traffic Authority and in exercise of its powers and under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 3(2), 4(1) and (2), 32(1), 35(1), 44, 45, 46, 49 and 53 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (‘the Act‘) and all other enabling powers, after consultation with the Chief Officer of Police in accordance with Part III of Schedule 9 to the Act,hereby make the following Order:-

1.  This Order shall come into operation on16th day of October 2023and may be cited as “The Kent County Council (Various Roads, Folkestone and Hythe) (Waiting Restrictions and Street Parking Places) (Consolidation) Order 2021 (Amendment No.18) Order 2023” (“this Order”)

2.  The Interpretation Act 1978 shall apply to this Order as it applies for the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

The Order has revised the waiting restrictions in the Folkestone Seafront And The Stade Parking Zone (Zone C) in the following roads:

•     Back Street

•     Beach Street

•     East Street

•     Fish Market

•     North Street

•     Radnor Street

•     The Stade

Existing At Any Time waiting restriction in The Stade outside The Ship public house will be removed and replaced with a loading bay operating at all times.

Existing At Any Time waiting restriction adjacent the fountain in Beach Street will be removed and replaced with a loading bay operating at all times.

Loading prohibitions operating at all times will be applied to all other waiting restrictions, with the exception of the northern arm of East Street and from no.2 Back Street to the viaduct (both sides).
