Coach Lane - Temporary Traffic Regulation to Allow Works to Be Carried Out on or Near the Highway

What is happening?

CITY OF NEWCASTLE UPON TYNE (COACH LANE, HAZLERIGG) TEMPORARY TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER 2023

1. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the City of Newcastle upon Tyne intend, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the effect of which will be to prohibit all vehicles from proceeding on that length of Coach Lane, Hazlerigg from 100 metres east of Winder Drive to Windt Street

2. The alternative route for vehicles will be signed on site as required.

3. The Order is required to allow works to be carried out on or near the highway.

4. Exemptions will be provided for vehicles engaged in the works and, wherever possible, for police, fire brigade and ambulance vehicles on emergency call.

5. The Order will come into operation on 27th October 2023 and will continue, as and when the relevant traffic signs are displayed, for 8 weeks or until the proposed works are completed, whichever is the earlier.
