What is happening?

HERTFORDSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL:

TEMPORARY CLOSING OF BYWAY OPEN TO ALL TRAFFIC ASHWELL 16

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council have made an Order under Section 14 (1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit pedestrians, horse riders, cyclists and vehicles from using that length of Byway Open to All Traffic Ashwell 16, heading southwest from junction with Station Road, for an approximate distance of 20m.

Alternative route: via Station Road, Lucas Lane and Kingsland Way

The purpose of the Order is to enable utilities works to take place.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE CYCLE TRACK SITUATED ON THE NORTH EAST SIDE OF A602 HITCHIN ROAD, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedal cycles from using the cycle track situated on the north east side of A602 Hitchin Road, Stevenage from its junction with the cycle track situated beneath A602 Hitchin Road south eastwards for a distance of approximately 580m ("the Cycle Track").

An alternative route will be via the cycle track situated beneath A602 Hitchin Road, the cycle track situated on the south west side of A602 Hitchin Road, the cycle track situated beneath the A602 Hitchin Road/A1072 Martins Way roundabout and the cycle track situated on the north east side of A602 Hitchin Road.

The Order is needed because electrical service connection works are proposed to be executed near the Cycle Track. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 21 October 2023 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Cycle Track.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF NORTON WAY NORTH, LETCHWORTH GARDEN CITY) ORDER NO.2 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Norton Way North, Letchworth Garden City from its junction with the Station Road/Birds Hill roundabout north westwards and north eastwards to its junction with Nevells Road, a distance of approximately 180m ("the Road").

An alternative route will be via Norton Way South, A505 (Baldock Road/Hitchin Road), Broadway, Station Place, Bridge Road, Icknield Way and Norton Way North.

The Order is needed because bridge inspection works are proposed to be executed near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 22 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF THE ROAD FRONTING NOS.117-121 COMMON RISE, HITCHIN) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the road fronting Nos.117-121 Common Rise, Hitchin from a point 32m north east of its junction with Common Rise north eastwards for its entire length ("the Road"), except for access.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 24 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF MAYDENCROFT LANE, GOSMORE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that the Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Maydencroft Lane, Gosmore from a point 300m north west of its junction with High Street north westwards for a distance of approximately 54m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Maydencroft Lane, High Street, Hitchin Road, Gosmore Road, A602 Park Way, Charlton Way and Maydencroft Lane.

The Order is needed because utility service works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road. If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VALLEY WAY, STEVENAGE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council intends to make an Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using that length of Valley Way, Stevenage from its junction with Hydean Way south westwards for a distance of approximately 77m ("the Road"), except for access.

An alternative route will be via Valley Way, Six Hills Way, Shephall Way, A602 Broadhall Way and Valley Way.

ADDITIONALLY all vehicles are prohibited from waiting at any time on both sides of this length of the Road whilst works are in progress.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Road.

If the Order is made, it shall come into force on 23 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Road.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING AND TEMPORARY WAITING RESTRICTIONS IN VARIOUS ROADS IN WESTON,

TITMORE GREEN, REDCOATS GREEN, ST IPPOLYTS, GOSMORE, RUSHDEN AND STEVENAGE) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all vehicular traffic from using the following lengths of roads ("the Roads"), except for access and to prohibit all vehicles from waiting at any time on both sides of these lengths of Roads whilst works are in progress:-

1. that length of Hatch Lane, Weston from its junction with Chalk Hills southwards and south eastwards to its junction with Fore Street, a distance of approximately 1942m.

An alternative route will be via Chalk Hills, B197 London Road, A505 Baldock Bypass, B197 Jacks Hill, Lannock Hill, Hitchin Road, Damask Green Road and Fore Street.

2. that length of Stevenage Road, Titmore Green/Redcoats Green and Sperberry Hill, St Ippolyts from its junction with Chantry Lane south westwards, north westwards, south westwards and north westwards to its junction with Folly Lane, a distance of approximately 2158m.

An alternative route will be via Stevenage Road, Fishers Green, Clovelly Way, A1072 Gunnels Wood Road, A602 (Hitchin Road/ Wymondley Bypass/Stevenage Road), B656 London Road and Sperberry Hill.

3. that length of Hitchin Road/Preston Road, Gosmore from its junction with Thistley Lane north eastwards and north westwards to its junction with Gosmore Road, a distance of approximately 1123m.

An alternative route will be via Preston Road, Hitchin Road, School Lane, Hitchwood Lane, B651 Whitwell Road, B656 London Road and Gosmore Road.

4. the access road leading to 'Youngloves', Rushden from its junction with Southern Green south eastwards and south westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

5. that length of Dyes Lane, Stevenage from its junction with Bessemer Drive north westwards for its entire length.

There is no alternative route available for vehicles when the works are being carried out. However vehicular access to properties in this road will be maintained whenever possible throughout the duration of the works.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Roads.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 October 2023 for a period of up to 18 months. However the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Roads.

(TEMPORARY CLOSING OF STEVENAGE PUBLIC FOOTPATH NO.016) ORDER 2023

NOTICE is given that Hertfordshire County Council has made the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, to prohibit all pedestrians from using Stevenage Public Footpath No.016 from its westerrnmost junction with the cycle track situated on the south side of A1072 Martins Way north eastwards, north westwards and south westwards for a distance of approximately 92m ("the Public Footpath").

An alternative route will be via the cycle track situated on the south side of A1072 Martins Way, Stevenage Public Footpath No.004, the footway situated on the south side of Rectory Lane and Stevenage Public Footpath No. 016.

The Order is needed because works are proposed to be executed on or near the Public Footpath.

The Order has been made and shall come into force on 9 October 2023 for a period of up to 6 months. However, the restrictions specified shall only take effect at the times indicated by signs on or near the Public Footpath.
