THE NOTTINGHAMSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL
(HAWTON FOOTPATH NO.5) (TEMPORARY PROHIBITION) CONTINUATION ORDER 2023
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Secretary of State Transport in pursuance of the powers conferred by Sections 14 and 15 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 approves of The Nottinghamshire County Council (Hawton Footpath No.5) (Temporary Prohibition) Order 2023 (which came into force on 10th April 2023 and continues in force until 9th October 2023 inclusive) being extended and continuing in force until 9th April 2024 or until completion of the relevant works, whichever is the sooner.
The Order has the following effect:- No person shall: (a) proceed on foot, in the following length of Footpath at Hawton in the District of Newark and Sherwood: - Hawton Footpath No.5 between its junction with the road at Hawton Village and the edge of the woodland at SK 7901 5034, a distance of 630 metres. AND NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that during the period of restriction there is no alternative route available for pedestrians on public rights of way.
If the works are not completed within the above period, the Order may be extended for a longer period with the further approval of the Secretary of State for Transport. The prohibition is required to enable continuation of archaeological works associated with the Middlebeck development, and in respect of the likelihood of danger to the public and damage to the footpath.
