What is happening?

MANCHESTER CITY COUNCIL TEMPORARY ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ORDER ROAD TRAFFIC REGULATION ACT 1984 SECTION 14 (AS AMENDED) Notice is hereby given that the City Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this Notice, to make the following Temporary Road Traffic Order: 
ORDER NO. MCC000135914395: The City of Manchester (Great Ducie Street, Cheetham Ward) (Temporary Closure of Bus Lane) Order 2023under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit any bus, taxi or pedal cycle from proceeding at any time in the following length of bus lane: Great Ducie Street North-east from 75m South-East of the Southern kerbline of Sherbourne Street in a South-Easterly direction for a distance of 100 metres. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to rebuild chamber. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 23rd October 2023 to 27th October 2023. The order shall come into operation on 23rd October 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Dated: 9th October 2023. 
ORDER NO. MCC135891295: The City of Manchester (Elizabeth Slinger Road, Didsbury West Ward)(Temporary Prohibition of Vehicular Traffic) Order 2023 under s14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of the Order is to prohibit vehicular traffic on Elizabeth Slinger Road from its junction with Barlow Moor Road in a Northerly direction for a distance of 100 metres. The alternative routes for traffic will be: (1)Nell Lane, Princess Road, Barlow Moor Road (2)Nell Lane, Burton Road, Barlow Moor Road. The City Council is satisfied that this prohibition is necessary in order to facilitate civils works in readiness of the installation of new telecommunications equipment. It is expected that the works will be in progress from 21st October 2023 to 27th October 2023. The order shall come into operation on 21st October 2023 and may remain in force for a maximum period of eighteen months. If all necessary works are completed within a shorter period, the Order shall cease to have effect at the end of that shorter period. Kevin Gillham.
